This is surprising to see in the way that it has been kept underground and has had successful results. Although it is not surprising that many terminally ill patients would opt for this.

This article is a tough one. I agree with everything everyone is saying, but initially it is about the person who is suffering. If one of my family members were suffering with an illness that unfortunately ended with an early death and they were in horrible pain, I would rather tem be at peace and end their suffering if it is what they wanted.

This topic is a difficult one to discuss. I feel as if birth and pregnancy is a miracle and its such a beautiful thing. Women able to be pregnant should be proud and feel blessed as some women aren't as grateful. I feel as if their is no excuse to take an infants life for the mothers fault. The only time i feel that there should be a debate about it is if the woman was raped.

The right for a women to get an abortion or even several abortions is ultimately one of her personal freedoms. There are many different scenarios that happen that lead to an abortion and who are we to questions anyone about to get one? Its a woman's private decision and freedom and should be left that way.

If Bill AB2019 is enacted into law, it will become mandatory to vaccinate children even when if the mom or dad says otherwise.

I think agree with destini, if we have talking about personal freedoms in all of these assignment then the individual should get to choose what they want to do. If a parent does it for them, then it was never a choice in the first place.

Young children can not make the decision themselves. That right is the given the parents that conceived them.

However, I relate to this a great deal since this past May & June I went to Afghanistan - and I was traveling with an Afghan citizen. I understand why they would be more cautious. Our coming back flight stopped in Dubai and we expected to have problems coming into the USA, but we also faced issues in Amsterdam. We were questioned a little longer than the other people - almost missed the flight because of it, twice - in Amsterdam & in the USA to coming to Phoenix. However, it did not bother us - we knew we would face issues. I don't even know how many times I was x-rayed - or how much time we spent talking to officials a little longer than everyone else and it happened everywhere we stopped, not only in the USA! I agree with these terms of not being so strict when leaving the USA, but coming back I could understand why the security was a little tighter.

Naming your child after the "Messiah" should be a parents personal & religious freedom, but a Tennessee judge is forcing a mother to change her son's name to Martin. Religious freedom is for those who choose religion and those who oppose religion. How do we find a fair and equal balance for all.

Very interesting topic. I am religious and find this to be ridiculous. I understand the judge may find it to infringe on a person's religious beliefs, but come on, seriously?! I think a parent should be able to name their kid whatever they want.

A couple should be allowed to name their child whatever they want, the court should have no say in it. A name is not breaking any laws.

Arizona Law - Illegal immigration is still in controversy on how Law Enforcement will conduct proper immigration stauts checks. Having the proper procedures in place can elimanate other legal matters concerning racing profiling.

Arizona immigration laws have consistently supported racial profiling and make it difficult for legal Latinos to avoid being harassed, interrogated and detained unlawfully. State laws should be fair and adhere with constitutional freedoms afforded all citizens. If you're an American citizen, you're afforded the same rights as other citizens and should not be detained unlawfully because you "look like an immigrant". This is where Arizona crosses the line with it's immigration laws.

I understand how these immigration laws here in Arizona can make people feel, however i feel like if i have nothing to hide whats the problem. I still don't like the fact that it makes it so easy for police to racial profile because its almost insulting to get pulled over for no reason except skin color. I have seen cops pull people over just for skin color, especially in the northern part of Arizona and its wrong.

My conception of ethically permissible behavior is based on the view that any decision is ethically permitted if it is voluntary and does not cause gratuitous harm to others. This is congruent with the early ethical stricture in medicine, Primum non nocere, "First, do no harm." However, our perception of harm must be qualified. A living being can be harmed without being harmed in a moral sense. I harm a mosquito when I swat it, but I do not harm it in a moral sense unless I assign a moral absolute value to the mosquito's well-being. To be harmed in a moral sense is to be wronged. Thus, my concern is with behavior that does or does not wrong another.

The subject of the child obesity epidemic has been high in the last 4 years. Did the government have to right to force what is or isnt allowed to be served, sold, and purchased on school campuses? This artical has it all explained pretty well.

New York City Mayor is trying to ban sugar drinks that are larger than 16 ounces because it is one of the main causes of obesity. People argue that although they agree with the fact that soft drinks are indeed unhealthy, the government should protect the freedom of the people.

taking away the drinks are going too far but the idea is right, obesity is a huge problem in the US and although it is an argument of freedom to eat, drink etc whatever you may please but when it comes to health that is a whole differnt concern.

Individuals should be able to consume as much soda as they want. I think that there should be more education about how drinking soda in excess can lead to obesity. Maybe warning labels on soda to remind people of the effects of drinking sugary beverages. I think it is then up to each individual to make the decision of how much soda they consume.

I total understand the ban, since most Americans don't pay attention to the main ingredient in soda which is "high fructose corn syrup". Research has shown high fructose corn syrup is as addictive as cocaine yet there are no laws regulating the use and quantity of it in food and beverages. High consumption of high fructose corn syrup has been proven to cause obesity and diabetes. There's not enough public education regarding this ingredient to enable consumers to make intelligent choices when consuming beverages and lobbyist lobby the government to make sure it stays this way.

I think this ban is ridiculous controlling the amount of soda and sweetened drinks people consume is wrong. Although sugary drinks can be detrimental to health, people have the right to control and live their own lives according to what they think is best. I like how this article has statistics and shows how many people don't agree with this outrageous ban.

Gay marriage talks about both legal issues and social argument issues. Legal argument grab more attention because they involve civil and equal rights. Gay marriage should respected, no matter if people don't like the fact of gay marriage. People believe that gay marriage is harmful, but there is no prove. There are good reasons to legalized gay marriage because it would benefit us all.

I am all for gay marriage. I think if a couple is happy with one another then let them be happy. There are many benefits to being married and I think they should be allowed to get married.

to be honest in this day and age I cant even believe this is still an issue? I completely support gay marriage if they want to live together forever just like everyone else I say go right ahead.

I have never really known the true definition of religious freedom until I looked at this sight. It defines it in what I believe layman's terms. Most people these days have religious tolerance, meaning people don't care what religion a person is as long as they don't bring it out into the public.

The article describes how we are will to show our lives on social media for anyone to see not realizing how much is not private. Then talks about how upset we get when the Government is looking at us.

wow this article really opened my eyes to how much I use and rely on social media without considering the all risk.

It is amazing how much information people put out there. At work, we have to take compliance courses every year. Just last year, they added a couple of modules on social media, and what is expected of you in relation to the information about work that you put out there.

In this brief article, a woman was reprimanded by her employer for breast-feeding her 3-month-old son in a Fort Brag mini-mall. Someone who was offended by the woman breast-feeding filed an anonymous complaint and a few days later the woman was told by her manager that the Army and Air Force Exchange Services, which manages military malls, has banned breast feeding. Although the employee did not want to make anyone uncomfortable or cause any further issue after her reprimand both North Carolina and federal law, allow women to breast-feed in public, even if their breast is exposed.

This was an issue 11 years ago when I was a breastfeeding mom. I had no choice but to take my 8 week old baby with me to a mandatory work meeting. I had a "cover" that is made to drape over me like a pancho. You could see nothing. Not even the baby's feet! I was asked to leave the meeting. That also came with repercussions, obviously out of my control. The mind blowing part of this entire story is my boss was a mother that had nursed her baby when he was little. Wouldn't you think she would understand more than anyone? This article is interesting to me due to the fact that there are laws in place to keep mothers from breastfeeding their children. That is outrageous! You should not feel pressured to bottle feed your child. It is a personal choice. I as a parent, had weighed out the pros and cons of both. And I made the decision to give my daughter a healthy head start. Why should we as human beings, be punished for taking proper care of our children. In my opinion, people need to find something else to complain about. And they will!

I defiantly disagree with both of these laws. I don't think it is right that a cop can pull someone over just to make sure they are legal. I also think in order to be allowed to handle a gun people should go through safety classes.

I think there should be a little more added to both these laws. If you want to search someone regardless of race, gender, religion or whatever you should need probable cause. Also I think if you are going to handle any type of weapon you should have some background with weapons handling; maybe off free weapons safety classes at public ranges?

From the moment that I started attending school, we were taught the pledge of allegiance. I spoke those words everyday in class for 10 years...but now it is being questioned. Is it consistant with the seperation of church and state? Is it favoring a specific religous group? Amongst many other questions, there is one that I believe should be asked, does taking this small phrase out of the pledge violate our right to the freedom of speech? I think that they should allow students to say if they would like to, and others may stay silent or think of something else they would like to say. And I believe that no student should be penalized for saying it.
