Pinterst is a great social media site for teachers to use to find diy (do it yourself) teacher materials, classroom management techniques and various other great ideas to use in your classroom for your students. I would highly reccommend this social media site because it is very easy to save the ideas that you find interesting and to go back and revisit those ideas later on at any time.

The State of Florida's Department of Education has an overall plan for the implementation of educational technologies in K12 schools. Below the conceptual graphic, you will find a link to the pdf of the complete 52 page document. It is worth a skim to find out how Florida schools' integration of technology compares to that of schools in other countries. There are also a number of resources available to Florida teachers of which you may be unaware.

According to this FDOE 2012 report, Florida has a plan to incorporate technology in our schools, which involves provision of "personalized learning" environments, staff training and leadership, and availability of networks.

An alternative to MovieMaker and iMovie. Might be easier for students who don't have access to either programs at home. After playing with this for a bit, I find it to be more useful than Animoto because users can do more. Instead o just plugging things in, you actually get to play around a bit more.

This site has how to videos for many of the sites I have seen mentioned. There are 5-min clips of how to set up and use the different applications that we find on the web but don't necessarily know how to get started on. I watched a couple of these, but especially liked the one about KidBlog and Animoto.

Here in The Math Machine you will find links to more than 50 online games that will help you teach and reinforce important math skills. Search the list below for games you might use with your whole class in your schools computer lab, or you might schedule students to use these games on computers in your classroom computer center. These games make great reward time activities too.

Wonderful website. The information is organized by topic, which makes navigation effortless. Great use for supplmental information on topics in science.

This is a great site for finding out interesting science websties and government science information

The item specifications part of the FLDOE website has been critical to prepare my students for FCA's and FCAT. If you find the item specification you can read to find out which pieces of information are tested. I try not to exclude data, but to ensure I cover the material being tested thoroughly. One example are states of matter teach three states or four states? Plasma is a state of matter not tested until high school. I include it to provoke thought, but I do not make it the main focus of my sixth grade lessons.

This blog is by Florida's Department of Education commissioner Gerard Robinson. This blog cover topic within the field of education that over topics on variety of thing such as FCAT, Parental Involvement, School Choice, Science, Involvement and Education tips for at home. It's a cool way to get a feel of what the commissioner is thinking and finds important to share with others about the field of education.

Power my Learning is a website dedicated to providing Teachers, Studenst and Parents with additional tech resources in all subjects and grade levels. You can watch videos, click on your grade level or subject area and find activities and games, and even read teacher blogs.

This website is a great site for teachers to check book levels and find books and their levels. I love this site because I can always go here and put a book title in and find the lexile level of it.

Instructional Improvement System for Florida Teachers on the DOE website.  Create your free account. Watch the overview video. Once your profile page opens, you can click on the APPS tab at the top and find dozens of free resources for teachers.

Great resource for learning more about research studies and findings. The National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance. Can learn about research studies in progress or look at specific categories such as ELL, teacher quality, Math, etc...
