I love how tweetmeme lets me track this - my all time most tweeted blog post is this one from this past April about my favorite apps and tools. It is also the single longest blog post I've written in terms of time - topping about 10 hours of work!

This ties in nicely with the information we got yesterday.

Here is a lovely cross- curricular project that the spanish teacher and I did together. She came to me and said, "I want to use this but will you help me on the technology side, I don't have to understand the technology to use the technology." My answer is YES! We took 2 days, did it in class, and there is a rich project that also gives her a legacy to hand down to other classes and for others to use and share. In this, students are taking tours of countries. They will play this and critique it in class using the teacher's hook up between her computer and large screen tv.

I'm always hesitant to listen to research conducted by a company itself touting amazing results, but much of what this company is doing is what needs to happen with curriculum. Of course, any curriculum may be implemented well and often the best teachers are selected for pilots. ;-)

Student questions and questioning become a major focus of classroom activity as teachers demonstrate and then require effective searching, prospecting, gathering and interpretation techniques while students use the tools and information to explore solutions to contemporary issues.

Here are some lesson plans using Mouse Mischief. In particular I think the Angles lesson plan would be interesting for math teachers but there is also one on apostrophes, colors (for ESL students) and a science one on carnivores, omnivores and herbivores.

Good to remember with any mention of Bloom that these are stages before goals. Mastery in one necessitates the next. Bad teachers tend to shoot for the highest and overshoot the others. These are developmental stages that must be passed from one to the next.

There are many that report amazing results (and others who report nothing) from the Willbarger protocol for ADHD. All I know is that the teacher who had ADHD who had this done in the workshop on Tuesday said her knee pain went away and she was able to sit still w/out her knee jumping up and down for the first time ever. I saw it and am not making it up - but you have to have a person train you on it. Again, it is not authenticated with research, but I sure wish someone would.
