The Conference Calendar (TCC) was first conceived by ITEG, LLC in 1999. Listing every single educational technology related conference that could be found in the US, it was eagerly taken on and supported by the T.H.E Journal. Over the next decade TCC established itself as the industry's leading website for ed tech events. Today, TCC is independently managed by one of its original producers and expanding its service into the entire education industry.
Here is a suggestion from Karen Green (@kgreen5 on Twitter) for how to create appointment slots on Google Calendar to let parents schedule appointments with you along. Karen has given an overview and a step by step checklist for how to do this. What a great resource!
An amazing teacher who uses Google Calendar to manage her classes in the library. This is such a helpful tool to use. I want to share what many are doing. Take a look!

I leverage the multi-windowed nature of my laptop to be working with spreadsheets, documents, presentations, email, calendar, Twitter, web content, pictures, videos, blog writer, etc. at the same time. My productivity would be severely reduced if I did not have my laptop.
IF you tweet or share a to a lot of apps, this app, Drafts will connect to just about anything. Type it, then decide where to send it, or you can save your most inspirational items to tweet, Facebook, or wherever later. It links with evernote, twitter, facebook, app.net, email, messages, calendars, dropbox, evernote, bufferapp, toodledoo and more (as well as ifttt.com integration.) I'm still learning about all the ways to use this handy tool. The only thing I wish it did is that I could add to it from the web and then see it on my ipad.
Kyle Dunbar is running a virtual book club. The first book is Flattening Classrooms, Engaging Minds. This website includes a blog that talks about the takeaways and the recordings that they are discussing. Please feel free to join in and mark your calendars - they are meeting on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm. I hope you'll join in.
It is vital that you and I both connect with other classrooms around the world. Students are the greatest textbook ever written for each other - they need to connect and learn from each other. You'll meet other educators and model the kind of learner you want your students to be. If you want your students to innovate YOU must be innovative. If you want your students to collaborate YOU must be collaborative.
Here's the schedule:
January 7th - Meet the Flat Classroom, Chapters 1 & 2
January 21st - Connection and Communication, Chapters 3 & 4
February 4th - Citizenship, Contribution and Collaboration, Chapters 5 & 6
February 18th - Choice and Creation, Chapters 7 & 8
March 4th - Celebrating, Designing, Managing a Global Project, Chapters 9 & 10
March 18th - Rock the World
I love this idea! Get email reminders by emailing to an address with the time period to want. If you need more time you can postpone with a single click. You can also sync to your Google Calendar. Reminder service is free, but more 'paid for' features are available.

Chronofencing is the principle of delivering contextually important information at the right time. It is like geofencing (triggers of contextual information at a location) but perhaps more useful. Learn to understand this term as it has important implications in education. For example, students can have triggers before leaving school reminding them what books to take home - or reminders of what to take to school - these time based reminders could be combined with location as with the iphone reminders.
A beautifully made Twitter-like social network for schools that supports photos, videos, files and embed html. The site also has a blog feature, calendar and many other fab features. You can set your class to private or public.
