MATH PRACTICE AND LEARNING PROGRAM - FREE FOR TEACHERS - 0 views

  •
TenMarks is the best math practice and learning program for grades 3-High School and as of today, it's FREE for teachers to use - in class or for their students to use at home. The TenMarks approach gives students a variety of problems on each topic, and ability to use hints if they need a little nudge, and immediate video lessons for them to refresh and learn the topic - on the spot. The end result - students refresh what they know and learn what they don't. Teachers choose their own curriculum (mapped to state standards), assign work to students, have it automatically graded immediately, review individual and class performance, and most importantly, take immediate action. TenMarks is super effective and real easy to use - it was designed with the help of math teachers across the country. What's more - it's FREE for the entire class! Check it out at http://www.tenmarks.com/teachers.

Proč učitelé o dovolené jezdí na letní školy a další vzdělávání : They spent their summer vacations doing this because knew there were other teachers out there they could learn from and compare experiences with, and they suspected something big might happen if they could share their ideas with each other. Proč využívat sociální sítě v pozici učitele : "Innovative educators often find themselves isolated in their schools," said Valeria, who teaches in Florida. But more and more, she and the others at the table are finding themselves able to connect with others with the same kinds of ideas. "You don't feel like you're the crazy one," said Cheryl, a junior high teacher in Arizona. "Your ideas and your perceptions resonate."

Stop Giving Homework | Teacher Tech - 0 views

  •
To stop giving homework, you have to change what your classroom looks like. Move away from a teacher-centered classroom to a more student-centered model. Start by creating a really good classroom website. Use your classroom website to disseminate directions. Students walk in the door, go to the website and get to work. Daily organize the agenda, which includes the directions for tasks, onto your classroom website.  ... Directions can be written, visual graphics, short videos or short animations. If students are doing the work digitally they are able to receive immediate feedback. This is better.  ...  I use Quia.com to create some of my digital independent practice, however, there are a lot of great tools that teachers can use.

Three Ways Software Is Empowering Teachers | Bill Gates - 0 views

  •
Zaujalo mě: software called Newsela, for example, translates the news of the day into articles pitched at different reading levels. That way, no matter how varied the skill levels are in a single class, teachers can lead a group discussion on the same reading. Možnost přizpůsobit čtený text úrovni žáků snadno a rychle, to by se určitě hodilo (s ohledem na plány s integrací možná ještě víc).

Wiki or Blog: Which is Better? - 1 views

  •
Both wikis and blogs provide teachers with a a dynamic process for integrating Web 2.0 technology in their science and math classes. These two types of online tools offer students a more engaging process for learning. Both are relatively easy tools which do not require teachers or students to learn any special program tools or computer skills. Their uses and applications are only limited by the vision and purpose for helping students learn.

The Current State of Educational Blogging – The Edublogger3heads-gear3headschatch... - 0 views

  •
Respondents said they used the student blogs for assignments /assessments (36.6%), reflective blogging (33.7%), collaboration / discussion (23.5% ), practice reading and writing skills (21.8%), encourage peer learning and support (19.3%) and digital citizenship skills (17.7%). Most respondents used Edublogs (68.4%), followed by Blogger (Google Apps) (9.3%) and then WordPress.com (5.7%). Třídní blog: Blogging has opened up our classroom to communications with students and teachers around the world. Studentský blog: Blogging is a great way to teach writing skills while also allowing students to see the power of a global audience. It is a wonderful motivator and such an easy transition in your classroom since you have students write anyway. it is also a wonderful way to teach citizenship skills since they need to learn what is and isn't appropriate to "put out there" in a professional setting as well as how to leave comments for others. It is also a tool that can be modified for every grade level. I encourage all our teachers to incorporate blogging and slowly they are. Tipy: For blogging to truly work in your classroom, it must become part of your daily or weekly literacy program. Just giving your situdents their own blogs will not turn them into bloggers. You must offer authentic reasons to blog, such a reflective journals for Passion Projects. It's all about commenting. The students who make an effort to find other student blogs that interest them and make thoughtful comments get the most traffic on their own blogs. Those who don't, get few visits-no matter how catchy their title, flashy their theme or wonderful their writing.
