This site provides a PowerPoint presentation on how create the most appropriate question format for clickers. The website explains when in the lesson each type of question is most appropriate. The website provides various links that give the learner more information on each topic that pertains to incorporating student response devises in the classroom. The clickers allow for various types of question format. The instructor can choose to use true/false, multiple choice, numerical, and other various types of assessment check point tools to assess the understanding of the content. Furthermore, the website includes suggestions on using the clickers to prompt student conversation and engagement. The learner can develop a greater understanding from the instructions and information provided on this website. The PowerPoint presentation fits into Mayer's essential learning. Essential learning relates to a lack of understanding due to no previous knowledge on the given content. Several participants in the workshop may not understand which types of questions are appropriate for clickers; this PowerPoint will clarify and help pre-teach the material; thus, meeting Mayer's essential learning.

Teacher Vision - 0 views

from Concordia, hundreds of choices, divided into grade level and subject categories, pdf printables, short paragraph on each concept map for application, some are customizeable in highlighted areas of pdf before printing,
  •
This website offers a variety of graphic organizers that can be implemented into the classroom. There are pre-made organizers and blank templates that can be used. These graphic organizers can be implemented in all content areas.
  •
Teacher Vision is a good site to print off graphic organizers that are already created. It allows teachers to focus the type of graphic organizer to the age level of their students. This will be helpful because I am dealing with teachers that teach grade levels K-5 and students' with special needs.

    * Teachnology- Web Quest Maker http://www.teach-nology.com/web_tools/web_quest/ Teachnology is a website designed by educators for educators that has endless resources including a Web Quest Maker. This website is absolutely one of the simplest ways to create a web quest that I have found. To use the Web Quest Maker one just need to fill in the appropriate fields with the information they would like to use. Web quests are one way to introduce new topics and information in an exciting and engaging way for students at any grade level. I found Teachnology's Web Quest Maker easier to use and more thorough than any of the other web quest makers that I found. I also especially liked the fact that the creation took place all on one screen and that the host provided pictures and clip art for visitors to use.

Showbeyond http://www.showbeyond.com Showbeyond is a resource that I came across while I was teaching my journalism students how to create a photo essay. Even though I just randomly stumbled across this resource it has proven to be a wonderfully simple to use slide cast program. Slide casts are an online multimedia format that combines and synchronizes slideshows with podcasts. I have found this format perfect for online story telling as well as online presentations. I think Showbeyond is a resource more fit for middle and high school students and educators. Showbeyond allows students and educators to design and create multimedia presentations easily and quickly. Showbeyond is a resource that lets you select and manipulate photos and text to create a visual presentation which you can add podcasts, music, and videos to. I chose Showbeyond because I don't think you can find a more accessible multimedia to create simple presentations on. I say simple because Showbeyond is not capable of some the more advanced features such as animation and timed slides like PowerPoint and MovieMaker are capable of. However, I do use Showbeyond in my classroom often and my students really enjoy the products that they can create.

Holt Interactive Graphic Organizer - 2 views

Holt Interactive Graphic Organizers This site has pre-made graphic organizers that students can fill in. There are different organizers for different types of brainstorming. This site would be best for lower elementary school students or for students who need more assistance (EIP or Sp. Ed.) The PDF document is easy to download and add text to the sections of the organizer. This site also allows for printing a hard copy or the ability to save the filled in GO to be shared later.

This site is a source for graphic organizers. It allows students/teaches to visually organize data in ways that make sense to them. This site if better than other because it offer several free organizers.
  •
    * Brief description of Web site: A free tool that offers various types of graphic organizers in PDF form that can be typed into and printed out. Each graphic organizer includes teaching notes with lessons and tips on how to use the graphic organizers in the classroom. * Brief explanation of why you found this site to be better than others you found: Besides the fact that this is a free resource, it offers an array of graphic organizers for users to use. Users can either type necessary content into the organizer and then print it out, or simply print it out first.
  •
    * Brief Description: A variety of different graphic organizers that have already been created and are organized by purpose.  The graphic organizers can be downloaded with the feature to add text to enter in your own information to be saved for later use and printed.   * Brief Explanation: The graphic organizers all have a very clean design without extraneous information.   I also really like the feature that you can type directly into the graphic organizers.

With this website, participants can create graphic organizers online with premade PDFs. Graphic organizers can be saved. Participants are able to choose which graphic organizer is best for them.
  •
This site shows different graphic organizers and their perspective names that can be used to organize information and how the information can be organized. I especially like this site and how you can actually click on each organizer to use for future use.

The video uses a learner-centered approach to technology because according to Mayer, it does "compliment human abilities, aid activities that we are poorly suited and enhances the development for which we are ideally suited" (Mayer, 2009, p. 13)." The required active engagement for this video is cognitive because the focus in the video is on the meaning of the presented material and interprets it in light of prior knowledge, YouTube-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hlgGpVpgWo YouTube provides a video presentation on a "SMART Board Interactive White Board Accessibilities." The three web sites that I selected that include multimedia artifacts for active learning: 1) http://www.learner.org/ The learner.org website is a cognitive activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on using multimedia technology as an aid to human cognition (Mayer, p. 13 2009). It uses film clips to demonstrate the practical applications of various mathematical concepts to real life situations. It builds a connection of what the students are studying to a concrete example (visual) to create a clearer mental picture form prior knowledge to new knowledge that is being discovered. 2) http://pearsonmylabandmastering.com/ The My Lab web site is a behavioral activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on rewarding students for the correct responses (excellent) or punished for the incorrect ones (try again). The underlying metaphor is that of drill-and-practice system, so multimedia is a vehicle for rewarding correct responses and punishing incorrect ones (Mayer, p.15, 2009). A student receives immediate feedback positive or negative and strengthens a response system to proceed or provide reinforcement of the content. 3) http://webgraphing.com/ The web graphing web site is a cognitive activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site provides engagement between the student and the graphing calculator. Multimedia learning is a sense-making activity in which the learner seeks to build a coherent mental representation from the presented material (Mayer, p. 17, 2009). The students actively engage with the graphing calculator along with the teacher
