Skype: What Is Skype. How To Use Skype - YouTube - 0 views

  •
Skype: What is it and How to use it This video, produced by a private individual and uploaded to YouTube, explains to users how Skype works, how to create an account, and how to use it. Users can follow along as she explains each process of using the program. I believe that this is a student-centered learning because one could do the steps as she is explaining them when following along. This video focuses on the cognitive ability of learners.

How to Use Clickers Effectively - 0 views

  •
This multimedia artifact is a video that demonstrates how to effectively use clickers in the classroom. The video takes educators through a series of steps on using the clickers to promote a higher level of engagement with students. The steps include: how to create a good question, how to foster peer discussions, wrapping up the lesson, and moving forward. I believe this video is a more learner-centered approach to multi-media design as the focus is helping educators reach a deeper level of understanding on how to create a lesson for students that just happens to use clickers as a tool for delivery. A learner-centered approach should expand our cognitive capabilities and the technology is the tool. Mayer (2009)

Graphic Organziers - 1 views

This website provides a tutorial explanation sheet on how to create a graphic organizer in Microsoft Word. Step by step instructions with a visual are provided for viewer. The website is a great way for teachers to become familiar with technology and creating a customized graphic organizer to fit the content needs. Explanations on how to insert shapes and change the color scheme are detailed enough to help the uneducated participant. The visuals add to the explanation of how to create the graphic organizer. The user can see how the screen on Microsoft word should appear; this assists in finding the correct icon for each step.

YouTube - how to - 0 views

In line with the best practices of a multimedia presentation, YouTube has thousands of how to videos that can be embedded into power points. In fact there are several videos on how to embed into powerpoint. I have used these videos numerous times in my general ed classes and in my tech classes for both adults and children. With the tech classes the students watch the video through once, then reproduce the activity while watching it through again. It is rare that I have to reteach when they do this.

Kal, I utilize United Streaming video segments in my classroom on a regular basis. Many teachers do not realize how easy it is to download them. I also use video for facilitating Professional Development. Video for students is much l like watching television - you have their "full" attention - they are totally engaged!

How to create effective multimedia presentation using power point - 2 views

  •
How to create effective multimedia presentation using power point? There are three ways how you can insert video into a powerpoint presentation. To present one's ideas across clearly, most of us us Microsoft Office Power Point. MS Powerpoint is a great application to create and do stylish and informative presentations. These days, people are using power point to include video clips and audio clips to create a multimedia presentation. Here are some tips on how to use video clips and create a power point presentation. I found this site to be better than the other websites because it talked about also insert videos into a presentation. This I believe would enhance the presentation and keep the participants from getting bored. I think the videos would create a better presentation. http://www.allpctips.com/.../how-to-create-effective-multimedia-presentation-using-power-point/ - Cached

This Web 2.0 tool is a pseudo-moving making tool using JPEG slides to make videos. This tool will come in handy in two respects. The first to make promo videos advertising the presentation. This will give possible attendees the chance to see what the presentations will entail. This would also be a good reminder since the workshop is split into five different presentations. The second way that this tool can be used is basic how to videos. Because the graphics move a little fast on this tool, the how to videos will have to be very brief and taks specific. Jing or Vimeo might be better options for how to videos.
