Adding Humor to Training - For Dummies - 2 views

  •
I like this website because it give you examples for how you can present your presentation with some humors. If people are talking during your presentation, you can say, "Feel free to talk among yourselves. ... or "You thought you were in the dark before this session! This activity helps participants get to know each other better. A form of pre-employment screening that verifies that you are a good fit for the leading the presentation. This can be use for essential learning when presenting a multimedia workshop. Biech, E. (2010). Adding humor to training. Inside Dummies.com. Assignment, Module 3 - Edmodo.com is a free, secure, social learning site for classrooms.  It is a blogging-type platform that allows users to share ideas, post questions, polls, files, links, and other assignments.  Students can create an avatar for responding to the assignment.  It also allows for mobile access and messaging.  It includes a class calendar, a grading application, and RSS feeds.  Educators can set up a secure site for each class or learning unit.  It can be employed in a  synchronous or asynchronous format.   Also, it includes a teacher connections forum.

    * Edmodo is a social networking/learning management system tool for students and teachers to engage and personalize learning, connect with resources, and measure progress. It can be used for essential or generative learning through participation in discussion threads, learning groups and communities, delivery of content for assignments and resources, and taking tests and quizzes. * I found Edmodo to be better than other authentic assessment activity resources because many teachers use it as a learning management system, it is easy to use and provides a safe and secure online classroom environment that is free. Edmodo also provides the capability of interfacing assignment and assessments with other web resources.

Windows Live Movie Maker in the classroom - 2 views

  •
Site with video and text to describe how to create video presentations for the classroom . . . for student and teacher self-created videos
  •
The Microsoft Movie maker site uses cogitative activity to teach learners how to create multimedia presentations. This site supports the learning needs by using audio and imagery when students create and share their movies. Mayer (2010) is a strong believer that verbal and visual representation is essential to process and organize data. In using Mayer's dual channel system the system uses the learner-centered approach since the design features are simple (2010).

TechSmith | Jing, instant screenshots and screencasts, home - 1 views

  •
This is the site to download the free version of Jing. You can also purchase the professional version. This tool will be used to create how to videos and real time screen sharing. When learners see step by step processes in real time, it helps to reinforce the concepts and increases memory. These videos can also be shared via HTML and as downloads. Because the HTML codes are easy (cut and paste) and the loading of the presentation (click play), learners will not have to have high tech skills to access the videos and they have the oprion to save them and revisit them.

The free Jing program allows teachers to capture videos along with narration from the computer screen. In addition, users can create technology tutorials for their students, and collaborative projects among the users through video.\nWhy this one: The Jing program allows the presenter to share screen shots of documents and tutorials on the computer screen without having the actual documents in hand. For essential learning, learners can see exactly what they are supposed to do on the computer screen.\n
  •
Brief description of what it allows you to do and how it can be used for essential or generative learning: Jing is awesome!! Jing allows you to quickly take screenshots or record short videos. If one is intending participants to have something set-up before the presentation, record a Jing and save the file or easily share the file using sites like screencast.com. Jing allows audience members to be prepared for the speaker. Brief explanation of why you found this site to be better than others you found (e.g., more effective, creates better products, easier to use, and so on): Easy to use! You can also pause the recording while making it as well as mute. Screencast.com allows for quick sharing in multiple forms.
  •
Learners can use jing to record their activities that demonstrate their learning within the Bb environment. It connects visuals with audio and can demonstrate, highlight, and segment items in accordance with best-practices in multimedia design. It's better than other products because it's easy to use and free!

  •
Teacher vision has many activities at your fingertips that are ready to print out. I use the site to look for various graphic organizers to create handouts for students. It is effective because I do not have to reinvent the wheel and most of the graphic organizers work well with what I teach.

I am using Pro Profs Flashcard Maker to introduce the concept and terminology of wikis during the pre-training section of my workshop. This will allow learners to process the essential information that will be needed in order to achieve the instructional goal. I like this activity for pre-training because it is "frontloading" the learning event with essential information. These flashcards are created online and can be embed them into my wiki. Its simplicity and multifunctional use make in an attractive tool for any teacher.

blogs - 0 views

  •
This website was chosen to demonstrate how collaboration among students can be easily facilitated using free online sites. Using a blogging site is as easy as creating one. This site should also be considered learner-centered, blogging can "aid human cognition."(p.15) Blogging can be used to further develop ideas through collaboration. Having teachers create their own blogs during the workshop is another example of a hands-on behavioral activity.
