Having had experience with using the FreeMind mapping site to create mind maps and organizers I am familiar with how it functions. Mind mapping or using graphic organizers can make identifying essential information much easier for students and teachers. Having used this site personally, I find it easy to use and effective at creating a mind map that can be converted to a jpeg file and uploaded to a blog or wiki with ease.

I've used this free resource for all the mapping assignments throughout my courses. It's easy to use and export as a jpg. It provides a great way to introduce and organize concepts as visuals.

This website is good for creating graphic organizers in a highly structured way for people who are less technologically savvy. It basically walks through step by step how to create basic organizers and gives you some power to rearrange them. It is better than a lot of online organizers in that you don't have to possess a great deal of skill to use it.

This site is both useful for organizing information, and for exploring information that others have posted. It is particularly useful for organizing websites or other online media. The interface is relatively easy to use and the social component makes this particular graphic organizer particularly attractive.

Prezi is an online presentation software tool that allows you to create wonderful presentations that will capture your audience's attention. It can be used in the classroom as a teaching tool or with the students. I think this site was good because Prezi gives you basic setup options and lessons to assist you in creating your presentation and learning how to use it.

Prezi allows a presenter to make an online presentation similar to the standard PowerPoint, but with much more interest and relationship. The movement of the presentation is within words and photos using a zoom in or fly-over effect. Effective presentations can be created to show relationship. Additionally, using the tool with students does not require that they have the software at home to work outside of class (just a side note).

Prezi is like a PowerPoint but is more interesting. Video and other links can be embedded.

Bubbl.us is a very simple brainstorming/mindmapping tool. In my workshop (Using Wikis in Education) I will use the graphic organizer as a pre-training tool to introduce the purposes for using a wiki in education. This will be a good tool for essential processing because the learners will be exposed to key concepts before the main learning event takes place. The learners will be given the key concepts in the primary nodes in the mindmap as the categories under which they will classify their new learning. Bubbl.us allows the learner to map out ideas and make connections. I liked this site because the mindmap was simple to create and it could be easily exported as a JPEG file. The only drawback is that I wish that it had the ability to import pictures/graphics and notes.

Online mindmap generator. Great for generative learning processes of making connections to prior knowledge. Explanation of choice: Recommended because it only requires you to type in an outline of text and in one-click transforms it to a free mindmap, which, unlike others, can be saved as a jpg.

2. Graphic organizer, 8847_graphic_organizers tag in Diigo Text 2 Mind Map is a web application that converts a structured list of words or sentences, interprets them, and draws a versatile and user-friendly mind map.

This site does the reverse of a tool in Inspiration. This site takes an outline and turns it into a mindmap, thereby allowing the user to have a graphic representation of ideas for any kind of project that is in outline form. Text 2 Mind Map is still in development, but from what I saw in the overall tool it does function well.

Edraw has many graphic organizer templates for use. Edraw is also free for download with appealing and user-friendly software.

The correct website is www.mywebspiration.com. This website has various applications. For purposes of my workshop pre-training, I would lead with a mindmap that would illustrate its organization and concepts, and then hyperlink these to the tutorials in commoncraft.com and other resources. Audio, sharing, and outlining features would also be leveraged.

The text and visual definitions are provided in a logical sequential manner, then offering suggestions for utilizing the various types of organizers. This went beyond many of the other sites I found.
