New site promises "create your online classroom, for free" but site doesn't describe features well. Anyone else use it?

Helen has organised an interesting series of online workshops this year.

"Digital Information Fluency (DIF) is the ability to find, evaluate and use digital information effectively, efficiently and ethically. DIF involves Internet search skills that start with understanding how digital information is different from print information, knowing how to use specialized tools for finding digital information and strengthening the dispositions needed in the digital information environment. As teachers and librarians develop these skills and teach them to students, students will become better equipped to achieve their information needs."

Some intersting ideas here that examine how to use specialised tools for finding digital information.

it may turn out that removing a body that was meant to make it cheaper for schools to get computers, allows them to get a wider variety. And for children preparing for a computer-driven world, it might will be a boon if it can bring a more creative approach to how they use the machines in schools.

After consideration by district technology coordinator John Haubner and other administrators, and @MessnerEnglish became our class Twitter account. It's essential that the teacher emphasize responsible use by students. Probably the most important piece is close monitoring of students by the teacher.
