On YouTube You Can Now Find Free Music to Legally Download and Re-use - 6 views

  •
For the last couple of years Vimeo has offered free music to download and re-use in your video projects. Now YouTube is offering the same thing through the YouTube Audio Library. This library is slightly different than the free music available when you use the YouTube slideshow creation tool. The music in the YouTube Audio Library is music that you can download to use in projects online and offline. You can search the library of music according to genre, mood, instrument, or duration. You can listen to the tracks before downloading them as MP3 files.

Make sure you sign up for google music first before installing the App. Let you know in 20 days how I go uploading my entire library.

19 Free iPad Apps for Musical Creativity: Play, Improvise and Record Music | Midnight M... - 3 views

Really, there are so many apps available it can be hard to know where to begin and once you find something that looks useful, it's difficult to assess it properly until you've download and installed it on your iPad. iPad music apps that are free can take away the risk of choosing a dud and they can be useful when book-listing apps for students on a tight budget.

How to Bring Podcasts Back Into The Music App in iOS 6 | MacTrast

"One of the changes Apple made in iOS 6 was the removal of podcasts from the Music app, releasing a separate stand-alone Podcasts app instead. While some people preferred this approach, other people hate the change, and just want all of their audio in one place!"

Curation, the musical! « NeverEndingSearch - 3 views

  •
I asked some of my kiddos and my music teacher colleague, Monica Femovich, to help me explain our very new efforts in teaching curation.  Usually game for anything Glee-ish, our singer/actors brilliantly and generously created an introduction I can use for instruction and in upcoming workshops. This may be the first song about digital curation.

An update to our search algorithms - Inside Search - 0 views

  •
"We aim to provide a great experience for our users and have developed over 200 signals to ensure our search algorithms deliver the best possible results. Starting next week, we will begin taking into account a new signal in our rankings: the number of valid copyright removal notices we receive for any given site. Sites with high numbers of removal notices may appear lower in our results. This ranking change should help users find legitimate, quality sources of content more easily-whether it's a song previewed on NPR's music website, a TV show on Hulu or new music streamed from Spotify. The Beginner's Guide to SoundCloud - 3 views

  •
"Online streaming services aren't new. There are innumerable ways to stream audio and music online, but SoundCloud has some advantages over the competition. Founded in Berlin in 2007, SoundCloud has since expanded to an extensive app that encompasses a streaming service, a distribution platform and an online community. For musicians, it's a great way to upload original music to share with your fans. For fans, it's easy to keep tabs on your favorite artists and stream on continuous play. And increasingly more for other types of media, SoundCloud provides a way to stream embeddable audio pieces for news and sports media outlets. Once you decide what's best for you, getting started with SoundCloud is simple. Check out some of the best and most useful SoundCloud features below in our beginner's guide."
