The Church is also working to stay caught up in all the digital advancements we've had over the last few years. The site still isn't completely finished but once it is it will replace the current lds.org

BYU Forum. Great Talk!  This is a must read/listen about if you give more you will actually make more.  Link that to ideas of a free economy.  

I loved how I went to this URL and the first entry was about molecular simulation. I'm just starting a research project with this. I hope that other people will get excited about the prospect of open science, or even as excited about the research and software as I am :)

Great link Jackie! I followed your link and really enjoyed reading some of the posts. One that I found particularly interesting is called "What, exactly, is Open Science?" I hadn't really thought about the importance of having research be available and open to everyone, but this article made me think about it and I agree. Thanks again for the link.

Great presentation on how to make your mark in the digital world

Here is the comment I left on the SlideShare website: This is super important stuff, thank you for sharing. In our digital age, a person's ability to market themselves on the web is a form of social capital. The more people follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and the blogosphere, the greater influence we can have. It makes me think about what happens in the book, 'Ender's Game' by Orson Scott Card. In the story, Peter and Valentine publish a lot of political commentary under aliases which eventually have a huge impact on world politics. Our future world may be run by those who can best market themselves and let their voice be heard.

This is a website where you can download the text of Lyrical Ballards, the book by Wordsworth and Coleridge.

I stumbled upon this website the other day. Its an article site with a bunch of hired authors. "Wait--hired authors!!" You say, in righteous defense of the open "wiki" model. But the cool thing about hired authors is that they are all viewing and rating each other's articles. Hence, "helium," the best articles rise to the top. I mean who decided that it was the best system to have bored 40 year olds living with their parents as the main source of information. (Let's be honest, those wikipedia articles didn't write themselves.) The good thing about a paid workforce is that there is a sense of pressure under writing the articles. Their business model is in and of itself an "invisible hand." Anyways, i thought it was a cool idea. Voila.

Yes, I never sleep. Anyways, I thought this sample page of visitors to a website about languages was incredibly precise and accurate. How does a computer get this knowledge, one might ask? (Does google have a tracker on where people come from to help their ads/ search services?)
