  •
This site reports news and information to inform individuals of any threats to their Second Amendment right. It is sponsored by the NRA and there are links of articles and stories anti-gun control.
  •
In 2009, at the behest of the Obama administration, the United States joined 152 other countries in endorsing a U.N. Arms Trade Treaty Resolution. The resolution establishes an international conference to be held next year, at which leaders from countries around the world-many of which have deplorable human rights records-will draw up an international treaty designed to severely restrict or even outright ban your right to sell, purchase, carry or own a firearm. Just two years ago, NRA fought a push to consider a 1997 Organization of American States gun control treaty in the Senate.

NRA Winning the Influence Battle Over Gun Control - 0 views

  •
The pro gun control voice could certainly gain influence if they establish a more united voice. The pro-gun rights voice is rapidly gaining influence while the pro-gun control voice has tapered in recent weeks. The pro-gun control voice is split between Obama and several gun control advocacy groups which dilutes the message.

This article is about the global refugee crisis, and the different stances countries have taken on immigration. It also contains information on the number of refugees in multiple countries.
  •
If we as a global community could establish a kind of program to help provide a home for refugees and for refugees to establish themselves as members of a new nation without discrimination, this would be best for everyone. They are fully capable of contributing and they deserve the opportunity to do so.

In 1974 the privacy act was passed. It establishes control over personal information. This was made for the government to go into peoples emails and other personal things. people can also get their own information under the privacy act.
  •
Privacy is a tricky thing in America, even all over the world. We are constantly being watched and viewed. It's interesting how power has a part in remaining unnoticed.

The Wall and US economic impact - 0 views

  •
This web site shows the negative impact on building a border wall with Mexico. It shows the numbers of US workers and Mexican workers affected by this decision. It shows how much capitol could be lost each day once the wall is built.
  •
Great find! I think that there is no real thought being put into the whole wall situation. Both the U.S. and Mexico have benefited from the ability to import and export goods providing jobs for both sides. The relationship that our current president is establishing will definitely impact our economy in a negative way.
  •
Excellent article! I agree with dennibro about the thought process behind it. First they were going to pay for it, now we are. Then the whole subject of who was going to be paying for this wall started to be backtracked. I think not only is it going to cost an astronomical amount of money to build, it will also cost us a lot to maintain it. I think a better idea is needed.

What's Wrong with Our Schools? - 0 views

  •
Education has always been a major part of United States history. Originally established by private institutions like churches and later on by the government, Americans always had a choice in education. But with less tax dollars going into public educations, parents are seeking secondary educational options with school vouchers.

"Question Authority": Why it doesn't work for education, and what does-basing authority... - 0 views

  •
Back in the day of the "hippie" revolution, the 1960's and early 1970's, there was a popular bumper sticker with the caption "question authority." The hippies successfully, it seems, took their motto and used it for demonstrations of all sorts to overthrow the established philosophy of education.

Why Breastfeeding in Public Is Taboo - 0 views

  •
Nearly weekly there is a news story about a woman being kicked out of an establishment for breastfeeding her baby. Restaurants, public pools, churches, art museums, courts of law, schools, and stores, including Target, American Girl Store, and ironically, Victoria's Secret, are all sites of recent skirmishes over a woman's right to nurse.

Defunding police: What it means and what it could look like - CNN - 5 views

  •
Defunding the Police Departments does not mean disbanding law enforcement. Excess funds can be distributed to other services (education, healthcare, housing, ect.)
  • ...6 more comments...
  •
Defunding the police and distributing that money to further establish other parts of the government can honestly change so much and for the better as well.
  •
this article gives a better understanding to what "defund the police" really means. By putting funds into other areas that need it, there can be a lot of good done in America.
  •
this article is very helpful in the way that most people think that defunding the police means disbandment when really it is just taking the extra funds and putting in other necessary services.
  •
Great article to explain the common misconceptions on what it means to defund the police. The positive to this is the benefits other sectors of the government would have such as education.
  •
I agree it does not mean to get rid of the police. but overly funding a facility while ignoring schools and healthcare systems is not okay either.
  •
This is a good, informative article. Other organizations need more funding, and I believe that funding them is only fair.
  •
This article really shows what it looks when the community doesn't feel safe and how the people are moving to make it safe and put money somewhere else.
  •
I'm glad that this article gives the information this country needs when talking about defunding the police. Many interpret that in the wrong way which has divided our country even more.

Raise the Minimum Wage: A Cry for Justice for America's Low Wage Workers | Rutgers Scho... - 1 views

  •
The cost of living increases while wages do not reflect the same. A person working for minimum wage isn't likely to afford a place to live with essential needs to also survive or merely just a place to live. The question remains is this keeping the US in poverty and depending programs to survive.
  •
minimum wage has always been a huge topic for many hardworking Americans. I agree that the cost of living has increased due to the coivid 19 outbreak. yet our minimum wage remains the same leading to many Americans not affording the cost of living.
  •
I agree that we need to protect the impoverished and the working class by raising the minimum wage. It is important to acknowledge that cost of living is going to follow the wages as it always does. If we want to truly change things for people with wages, then we need to establish a consistent cost of living to accompany the minimum wage.
