All immigrants, irrespective of their legal status, have human rights. Draconian security crackdowns have led to a wholesale assault on basic freedoms and rights. Immigrants need representation and assistance on securing human rights.

The right to protest has been a major point of freedom for the US. It's a fundamental right written in the constitution. Now lawmakers are trying to take away that freedom by making it illegal to protest.

The real problem is the groups that are vandalizing and rioting, and then claiming it is their right. The right to peaceful protest should never be taken from the American people. I do not condone the violence and rioting that occurs, and laws pertaining to that are pertinent, but not peaceful protest. So many things have been accomplished because of these types of protests in our history. As a woman I would not be participating in this class if it weren't for the people brave enough to protest for equality. It is a travesty that government officials, who should know and understand the rights given to the us in the Constitution, would bring about legislation to override said rights.

This is an issue that always bothered me because I never understood why people fight against it so hard. If you don't like something it doesn't mean you have to participate in it. I agree completely. It is possible and other countries have proven it. It's just a matter of rejecting the lobbyists, insurance companies, and pharmaceuticals that make money off of private citizens. Healthcare should be a basic human right and not something that can cause you to go bankrupt.
