Mobile Geotagging allows users to post media (photos, video, audio or text) from a mobile phone to a specific point on a map. Flagr allows users to create public, semiprivate, or private maps. Great tool for teachers in many subject areas to enhance learning. For example, students studying habitats or different biological species can take pictures within their community and then send each picture band a description of where the habitat or species was found. In the classroom the teacher opens up the class flagr map and the students then identify the species and discuss why they were found in each particular habitat.

Can be used by students who are visually impaired so they can send speech to text emails, blog posts, tweets, reminders, posts on google calendar, etc.

Allows teachers to turn basic cell phones into classroom performance clickers at no charge. Studetns can send poll responses and ideas achieved through bdrainstorming directly to an interactive webpage. An example of the use may be that when the students walk into class the teacher has a question on the IWB that students will need to respond to as their activating strategy for the lesson.

This is a user friendly site that uses a drag-and-drop interface to edit and mix video. Absurd Math is an interactive mathematical problem solving game series. The player proceeds on missions in a strange world where the ultimate power consists of mathematical skill and knowledge. Many of the pages have hidden clues and areas. Anytime a player needs help, they may email our staff for assistance. We try to respond within two days. Teachers and parents, email us for answer keys.

This site provides a variety of ready to use lesson plans on a variety of topics. The lessons have an essential question as well as an outline of strategies and activities that can be used to teach them. In addition, if appropriate, graphic organizers will be provided for use with the lessons. When you get to the site use the Find a Lesson Plan search feature to easily see if there is a lesson that aligns to your curriculum.

PBS Teachers is a wonderful site with lots of resources and supplemental material for teachers to use with students. This particular link will take you directly to the STEM education resource center: Professional Development and the focus on this page is Global Climate Change Modules from PBS and NASA. However, if you look at the top of the page you can choose a specific grade band and then within that there are various content areas that can be chosen. Looks like a very interesting site with lots of resources to select from.

Looks like a good site full of supplemental resources. Worth the search and a look.

"Arcademic Skill Builders are free research-based and standards-aligned educational games! Engage and motivate students with our multiplayer and single-player games." As of August 2011 Academic Skill Builders has released 40 web-based learning games designed to help K-8 students build basic math, olanguage arts, vocabulary, and thinking skills. The games incorporate multiplayer capabilities in educational gaming. Studetns can play together in groups of 4, 8, or 12 at a time, promoting positive interaction and achievement. Educators can use the free arcade-like games with a projector screen, interactive whiteboard, or computer lab. Security safeguards ensure that no one outside the classroom can contact students who are playing the games. The games align with state standards and the Common Core Standards.

Sharing this again as there have been some additions to that that I think will be very helpful for teachers grades K-8.

This YouTube channel features fun science experiments for families. Families nationwide can take advantage of the information presented on this dedicated YouTube channel, featuring simple, fun science experiments that parents can conduct at home with their children__such as making colors explode in a puddle of milk, creating sidewalk chalk, and making a cloud.

This link has some interactive games on it related to a number of problem solving and critical thinking activities.

Online professional development, TV programming and multimedia web content, lesson plan ideas, and ways to connect with other educators are all things featured on the PBS teachers page. The website also features news and webinars for teachers to view.

I have used this before and found very straightforward. Lots of opportunities to pull fast resources without having to dive too deep to find meaningful content.
