"Coding In The Classroom: 10 Tools Students Can Use To Design Apps & Video Games" gives some of the best sites where students can learn code for design work. This is a must skill for students who have an interest in computer programming and developing games/apps.

Google Apps for the iPad is a small site built by Google Certified Teacher Jill Galloway. The site addresses a lot of common questions about using Google Apps on iPads. 

A Twitter friend, Holly Clark aka @hollyedtechdiva,(http://hollyclark.net/), shared a post she found about how Google Apps can make a difference for teachers & students. And they are making a difference, and there's so much more we can do. Just think, students and teachers in our district have created over 30,000 docs, 1,712 spreadsheets, 1,027 presentations, & 2,894 folders. There are also over 9,000 files uploaded and stored in Google Drive. And there are 10 things Google Apps teachers rarely, if ever hear. Check them out :)

Neither one is entirely perfect, but they're both quite good." - Opinion is an iPad app & recordings can be saved to Soundcloud & Evernote. StoryCorps is available for iPhone and Android devices, and is good for interviews.

This year's favorites include apps due to the shift in education to mobile learning and the "flipped classroom."

"Meet Dictation v2.0, a web-based speech recognition app that will transcribe your voice into digital text using the Chrome Speech API. You can also install Dictation as a Chrome App." I tried it and it works pretty well. No special software is needed, so it will run fine on a Chromebook.

iPad screen recording and annotation app - 99 cents

SimpleShare is a Mac and Windows based app for sharing files, screenshots and screencasts across the box.net cloud storage system. We've shown you a simple hack for direct right-click in Windows uploading before, but this new free app makes the process even simpler. Best of all it's available for both Windows and Mac, and it's a joy to use.

This app gives the ability to turn your iPad into a personal IWB! Allows you to record voice-over whiteboard tutorials and share them online. You can also drop images from your photo library and write on/around them. To see examples, go to ShowMeApp.com. Makes me wish I had an iPad2 to try it out :) 

Mobile4Math has come out with Java-based apps for mobile phonesthat will graph functions (linear, quadratic, etc.), help students with the process of solving equations and inequalities, a qualitative graphing app, etc. The cool thing is that you can download the application for free or try them online using the Live Demo page.

Good review of Jaycut and the features from someone who has used the app. Another example of how students can leverage powerful tools without having it reside on a local computer/server.

Fantastic resource that not only provides resources for teachers and students, but allows for CURATION & customized collections. This could be a great way to have students learn CURATION skills - an important digital literacy. Google Apps integration.
