This article outlines the benefits of using technology in the classroom. Most importantly, the article mentions that technology is essential to preparing students for successful futures. While technology cannot totally replace traditional learning methods, a classroom should be a blend of traditional and technological learning.

This article is about how more males are typically enrolling to be in technology courses in middle and high schools in the US then are females. It mentions how keeping and bringing in female students to take educational technology courses will require major changes in instructional practice and course content. A study in this article also brought about how males and females have different interests when it comes to the use of technology.

Although the article is somewhat dated. I do believe some of the research is still true.

This article talks about how iPads and other tablets are a learning tool for students with disabilities, not just for novelty. Students who have trouble communicating verbally can use apps to talk to peers, teachers and parents. It allows them to be more like their peers and can spark new friendships if used in the right way. It can be used in all classes, including Math and Science, allowing students to be more independent than they have ever been.

This article looks at two different structures in place at different school systems to investigate and introduce new technology into the classroom. In the first example, the school district has invested in a full time administrator whose job it is to find new technologies and uses in the classroom and then provide the information to the teachers. The second case study involves a more traditional approach where the classroom teacher collaborated with other teachers and developed an program in Kindergarten through 3rd grade to introduce the children into inquiry into technology by dismantling robots and other forms of technology, solely to awaken a sense of discovery within the students.

More and more school districts are hiring integration specialists/technology coaches/21st Century Learning Coaches. Both case studies reveal important ideas for how technology can and should be used.

In this article, the author is explaining the difference between technology being taught as course content, or as a teaching tool. He also discusses the role of technology in a math classroom. This article also discusses how it it difficult to integrate technology into a mathematics classroom.

This article discusses the advantages to using mobile devices classroom; it is stated that laptops create a wall while kids enjoy working together on their cell phones. In survery teachers and admininstrators use at home or classroom argue should be used in the 21st century classroom.

This article discusses" blended learning." This is where they move from a one-size-fits all teaching to a personalized form of teaching. The capability for children to use technology and have someone also physically teaching will enhance the learning of a child.

In this article, Bill Tolley describes what blended learning is and what it might look like in a classroom. It discusses how teachers can combine face-to-face learning with online learning and why it is necessary in the 21st century to do so. It talks about the shift from teacher as gatekeeper to coach/tutor for students as we move toward a more democratic learning style that incorporates technology.

Nice find on blended learning. The state of Nebraska is investing a lot in the idea of blended learning and supporting blended classrooms.

Philip Cotton was one of the first teacher in the UK to use 3D printing in the classroom. He talks about its uses in the classroom and the necessity for students to learn the technology now so that they are prepared for future careers that haven't even been invented yet. This article gives real life examples of 3D printings classroom applications, as well as highlighting safety concerns and software needs.

It is important to remember students with writing disabilities, have the hardest time with writing. This article is about assistive technology we can use to help those students. By giving these tools students who have trouble writing, can help them become better writers, or at least make their writing better. Either way it will help the student needing writing help.

This article reviews the shift in learning styles. It describes the development of culture labs that foster learning for the sake of growing and developing. The idea is being utilized in college classrooms and needs to filter into earlier learning environments in order to accelerate the learning process and develop a stronger culture of learners.

Interesting read, many institutions need to start thinking about the points brought up in this article.

This article discuses how mobile devices such as tablets are very affordable for schools, and provide a lot of different apps that can be used for classroom application. The study discussed how students can relate to what they are learning because of the practice they can do on the tablets to make a better connection. Page 12 shows some of the students thoughts towards using tablets in class; including, "We live in the technology age so using technology is important to help develop proficiency."

This article is explaining how the author believes that the internet is now the most powerful tool in the classroom today. The author argues that teachers must give up some of their power in the classroom and allow students to take more control of their own education through the opportunities the internet offers. She does make the point that teachers will still have a pivotal role in the classroom even with all the new technology.

Teachers can use technology to facilitate real, engaged teaching and learning, whether it's through social media, cell phones, or tapping into the expertise of other teachers. No matter what tool is being used, it's important to see how the technology helps the goal be reached and what learning experience is being promoted.

This article outlines techniques and applications to use social media in businesses and schools. Although there is still a negative reaction to using Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites, this article offers appropriate uses for these in the classroom. It also outlines sources for educators and administration to improve their learning and development as well.

The Flipped Classroom (FC), is the teaching model that employs asynchronous video lectures, reading assignments, practice problems and other digital technology based resources outside the classroom and interactive, group based problem solving activities in the classroom. This article discusses the benefits of FC and provides a case study and guidance and recommendations for implementing this model in your class. They also provide multiple technological resources that you can use in your FC classrooms. Very interesting approach compared to that of the traditional classroom.

This is a 2013 article by M. Soobik from the Journal of Technology Education. It focuses on Technology Education teachers' opinions on the physical learning environment of Technology Education and compares and analyses the changes in the physical learning environment of Technology Education. The article found that the physical learning environment is important to the overall success of the students ability to learn and fully utilize modern technology.

This is really interesting how they researched the physical learning environment and its impact on technology.

This journal covers Tessellations in the classrooms and how they can be done by pretty much any student. In the classroom, they can be used for a variety of technology educational activities, such as graphic arts like screen printing and 3D printing. These techniques can be used in practical and artistic ways with basic geometry and symmetry skills. According to their research, these tessellation activities can be successful and challenging for most students. I couldn't find this article online anywhere else other than the library at school or ebhost site. Sorry

In this article, the author reflects on some of the challenges he faced while trying to introduce technology into his classroom. He found that he and the students were becoming frustrated and disengaged during the process and technology ended up hindering the learning process. That all ended when the teacher found Google Apps.
