This is a free web-based resource which includes images, audio, and visuals. This resource can be used for all grades. This resource allows anyone to create a free slide show very quickly. You can use your own images and music, or you may use music they have provided. This resource also allows you to add text to the slide show you create, you are able to embed different things, and you even have some control of transitions. This resource can be used to introduce a topic to your students. You could create a slide show with texts and sounds to introduce a social studies lesson. For example, let's say you wanted to teach students about Athens, Greece. You could use this resource to upload pictures of Ancient Greece to display its architecture and add text to label what the picture is displaying. You could also use it in reading as a storytelling slide slow. You could even allow your students to create an "All About Me" project. They would be able to upload pictures of themselves, family, pets, and anything else that allows people to get to know them. This resource can be used in ways. It is a fun, free, and almost effortless resource that allows teachers to easily integrate technology in their classrooms. As I reflect, there could be some difficulties or problems that arise with using this resource. Since this resource is easily accessible to anyone, students may upload inappropriate content into their slide show or add inappropriate music. To avoid misuse, I recommend teachers require students to get their slide show approved by a teacher before showing it to the class or sharing it with anyone else. Also, there is only a limited amount of music available that is provided by the website. Due to this issue, teachers or students may struggle finding and uploading their own music. Teachers should also monitor what content is being uploaded to make sure the slide shows meet the fair use laws. As with any form of media, teachers have to be sma

Science Daily: This site offers libraries for a very large variety of science topics. The site is intended to extend research on science topics. Depending on the particular science concept, I feel that the content offered in this site is suitable for middle school aged students and high school aged students. This site only focuses on science concepts so it would only be good for the subject of science. The photo's and videos are royalty-free. When you email the videos, they will email the URL that will take the viewer to the webpage for the video. The actual .mp4 file will not email. It is more so available for free streaming purposes and not downloadable purposes. Needless to say, the content is still very useful for education.

Freeplay Music - 1 views

There is a wide variety of copyright free music that is free for some educational uses and some student uses as well as personal YouTube videos. However, there is a price involved with using the audio clips in other formats. You can search by music type, and then you are presented with a great selection. You can also upload a video clip and apply your audio selection to it. Another useful tool is the ability to create playlists of your favorite selections. Music can add that extra element to a presentation or lesson and this would be a wonderful site to use for that. This site could be used in any subject area and all grade levels.

SchoolTube is a free media sharing website for students and teachers to upload videos for free for educational purposes. These videos can be categorized by age or subject matter to make finding them more simplified for users. I like that this website allows students to upload videos for classmates, morning announcements, course content, and study materials for tests. I also like that this website is easy to sign up for and easy to use.

Weebly free web site builder - 0 views

Although Weebly is not simply a repository for royalty-free images, I thought it worth pointing out that it has a rich bank of free photos and images that can be searched and uploaded to your web site. Of course, when you search you have to be sure to click the "free" tab which is behind the photos that come up initially. As for educational uses, I use free images from Weebly on my media center site regularly, and whenever students are creating web sites as their "learning artifacts," Weebly is a great way to do it- this can apply for ELA, Science, Social Studies, or whatever subject. Another thing I like about the free image bank at Weebly is that when you choose and upload one of the images, the proper attribution automatically appears at the bottom of your web page. Brilliant!

Vicfirth.com is a site that is beneficial for educating percussionists of all age and skill levels. Vicfirth.com is host to a variety of media teaching aids such as how-to videos, image clips, and audio files. There is also a large collection of demonstration videos. This site is most beneficial as a technology based tutor for the student percussionist/drummer. the student can learn or supplement their learning while moving at their own pace. This site is copyright-free for use thought they do advertise and give descriptions of Vic Firth products. I see no difficulties involved with the use of this site.

ClipArt ETC: Free Educational Illustrations for Classroom Use - 4 views

This site provides an immense library of clip art images that can be used by teachers and students royalty free. Each item comes with a choice of size and format and even gives instruction on how to use proper citations for school projects. This is a tool that can be used for projects or presentations made my teachers and students and could be useful in engaging learners by giving them visuals that are associated with the material that they are learning in any discipline. The only issue that I can forsee with using images from this site is making sure the proper citation is included in the project or presentation. But, this is is a teaching moment for many of us outside of our discipline in which we can stress the importance of giving credit to sources where we borrow images, ideas, video, and more.
