New York Times is getting it right. What a great, simple multimedia presentation. 

I just spent the day working with teachers at WCHS and we talked about adding the NASA podcast to a wiki for students to respond to during each quarter and I would add this kind of site as a useful resource that would let a student make connections between different topics/concepts they have been studying and "real life" science. I don't think you would ever know exactly what you would get here, which is why I like it. Let the students really work and explore on their own to make connections. As a teacher, let the students create a rubric with you, model an example for them and one with them, and then put the idea out there as a long term project that you touch base on on occasion. Thoughts/responses?

David writes a series of quick easy to read articles that offer nice suggestions and recommendations for use of different technologies and applications. One nice thing about this from my perspective is that the articles lead into one another as a teacher is ready to progress in use.

I just added all fifteen tools to my library but thought I should probably add the article where I got them all from as well. I think the article is a little overly supportive but at least the sites are interesting. I do like the premise of creating instructional routines that can be supported as paperless. I would like to see the conversation about how to create the entire routine from getting students to the site, letting them do their thing, get feedback to/from the teacher, reflect, repeat/progress... I think that is an area that teachers need help in thinking through.

Comic creator that looks like it allows the use of storyboarding to write a better story with students. Worth exploring.

Online binder of activities created by Kelly Hines for her students. She uses this site (livebinders.com) to organize her online learning for her students. This is just a good example of what an online binder might look like.

Virtual Nerd is developing some very interesting video tutorials. The videos are primarily symbolic and procedural but they are thorough , organized, and model notes accompany the videos.  they are in the process of developing physics videos.

Puts historical events in history on a Google Map. What a great way of making connections between events and interacting variables. Yet, another great way of making history come to life!

New presentation tool, with a prezi feel. Still in Beta. It's pretty simple in what it does, but worth looking at.
