Great resource from Derrick McNeil for helping physics students learn Physics, not independently, but at an independent pace to supplement and differentiate content for his students (and ours).  Interesting approach and philosophy that I think has great merit and is worth exploring for more content areas.

Very interesting idea for having students/teachers create a story using search queries. Doesn't work all of the time for all search topics, but has some very interesting applications.

Wolfram Education Portal: Free Resources and Materials for Teachers - 1 views

In the portal you'll find a dynamic textbook, lesson plans, widgets, interactive Demonstrations, and more built by Wolfram education experts. Absolutely a great resource. Builds in representations, applets, explanations of variable use etc. Great tool.  Since it is in Beta, I am wondering how long it will be free and what their plans are for the future.

Teaching with Technology in the Middle: Finding new hope for research papers (and a new... - 3 views

Read Steve Fulton's approach to researching with his middle school students as they were reading the Hunger Game. I love his approach to incorporating the book, what students already knew, Diigo for sharing, summarizing, and gathering data, and then the writing process. In my opinion, this is how it should be, the focus is on writing not the use of technology. The technology just helps achieve the goal more effectively.

Great twitter like site designed for schools and classrooms. Great for sharing research and backchannel conversations that have research breaks built into them because students and teachers can embed images, videos, and links for sharing. If a school is concerned about twitter and access, this would be a great classroom alternative.

If anyone is looking to have students create digital products, this is a great site to consider as an option for students. Create 3D popup books that students can use to tell their story and share.

This is also a great tool for cropping and slicing parts of a video to share with others. You can use to specify the start point of your video or to skip scenes, zoom in, annotate your video, and even play it in motion.

This is another web tool that lets users select a specific portion of a video to play. The difference between this tool and the ones mentioned above is that it only lets you specifiy a start time but no end time.

Online spreadsheet tool. Always worth sharing. Decent graphics tools, but not as intuitive or as easy as Excel. If you don't have access to Excel, not a bad alternative.
