National Educational Technology Standards, Electronic Portfolio Templates
Some interesting things to think about collecting and organizing for an e-portfolio.
Using Evernote for classroom portfolios. I like this use of a great tool for more than just sharing and capturing your own work. This is a nice systematic use of a tool for multi-purposes.
Mr. Greer's ISN page. Nice example of how to set it up for kids. I really like these two boxes on the page:
Why use an interactive notebook?
1. Students use both their visual and linguistic intelligences
2. Note-taking becomes an active process
3. Notebooks help students to systematically organize as they learn
4. Notebooks become a portfolio of individual learning
Personal Response Instructions
1. Summarize the new information you have learned from the activity/presentation
2. Relate or connect this new learning to what you previously knew about the topic
3. Tell how you feel about what you have learned.
At least 3 paragraphs
are needed to meet the expectations
for this assignment.
A simulation of the stock market. A great running application to use in algebra classes, as it allows students to use algebraic concepts to manage their portfolio. Not directly skill or concept related, but can utilize graphing, formula use (as simple as P/E ratio, to regression analysis, to derivatives). For those teachers who think a little outside the box. I would be glad to hear how others might envision using this in their classroom.
Welcome to the free section of Dreamstime!
If you are a designer, here you can download high resolution RF stock images for free.
If you are a photographer, the heavy traffic of this section offers you the opportunity to achieve great portfolio exposure by offering free images.
Using an application, like CASA's Image Cutter or the Automatic Tile Cutter, you can create your own map tiles for Google Maps. It is therefore possible to replace Google Maps tiles with other maps.
If looking for a system or classroom routine to develop student eportfolio this mosdel is a nice way of organizing the 'tech' aspect of the routine. Have students write blog posts as writing to learn component, get feedback for editing, organize them according theme/topic (allows for cross-referencing), post final products as portfolio pieces. Very transparent, easy to track, allows for built-in feedback/reflection.
"LiveBinders is your 3-ring binder for the Web
* Collect your resources
* Organize them neatly and easily
* Present them with pride
Best of all, it's free!"
Now we are talking not only an organization tool but a creativity tool. In the process or organzing my materials, I'm creating those connections and webbing of links to where and why I post material in multiple places (3 ring binder tabs). I like it. I also like that it's drag and drop. I need to play some more with this one!
