There is separation between lawyer knowledge and persuasion techniques. There is information that only lawyers learn and can reveal through their schooling, but there is also a part f it that is about persuasion. Lawyers look at things with another perspective and that is job; they bring out information and present it in a way that is appealing to their side. If everyone had this ability, it wouldn't be necessary for any lawyer to attend lawschool, and essentially everyone would be a lawyer. So yes, there is a separation between lawyer knowledge and persuasion techniques, but it they go hand in hand.

1- Stone explains in her chapter that "moral ideas and social conventions about behavior and language give us some standards for judging names as more or less close to the truth." Would you say this applies to everyone? Why or why not?

2- Stone claims that we find it difficult to "draw the line between two things- say beating and unnecessary force (in the Rodney King example)- does not mean there are no significant differences between the two or that we should abandon trying to make decisions." Going back to our talks about con artists, is this a form of conning? How can politicians use this form of persuasion and is it effective?

I agree with Magen and Matt. If there are problems in our economy we can't just stand around, let them rise and build up. Then we'll just have a big mess. People get to certain levels of perfection, excellence, achievement, and success because of their smart stance in these kind of beings.

I dont think that this problem would be fixed. No matter what happens there will always be problems with our healthcare because there are too many people wanting too many different things. I agree with Joette; i think that citizens should get in contact with this, but it might not have the outcome we all wish it will. If this problem would fix on its own, it will take a long time to do so.

I think it depends on the person and their characteristics whether or not they can change a person's ways of doing things. Some people are very skilled in having others around them do what they want to do, but others would rather simply change their own asking to fit the person. In whichever position one stands, whether it's changing their ways or persuading others, one rises to power, no one just gets it. They all start from the way bottom, like we saw in the movie clip, and move their way up.

2- I usually do find myself seeing patterns or images in places where there are none. I believe someone sees a pattern related to previous thoughts or sights they have seen. Once people start noticing something about society, it is more likely for them to imagine these things appear everywhere when sometimes they really dont.

i do believe that money is an important means for a country but since its not a goal, not much can be done with it. money can create a new set of jobs, can circulate the economy and therefore enhance the development of a country. it isnt the most important means though, since without healthy citizens none of this can be possible.

I think that by portraying the desperation of Africa, we are actually causing more damage rather than saving. I think that if people around world do acknowledge what Africa has done for itself and what other Africans have done for their country, it is much more helpful than having Americans, specifically American celebrities, act as though they truly care about the poverty and helplessness of Africa.
