Hans Rosling presents to viewers a table of the rates of significance of both the "means" and "goals" of "The Dimensions of Development." Each topic such as Human Rights, Environment, Governance, Economic Growth, Education, Health, and Culture differed greatly in priority whether it was a mean or a goal. On this table he states that money is the most important means, however not the most important "goal." Would you agree with this assertion that money is the least important goal for the dimensions of development? And if you do agree that this is simply just a "means;" would you consider the poorest countries to be the most developed if, however, they already have reached what Hans states to be the most important "goals" of development; such as culture and human rights (which were rated highest in priority on the goals side) despite their lack of economic funds? Do you even agree with any of the assertions that were made by Hans' table of "The Dimensions of Development"?

i would agree that money is the least imortant goal for the dimensions of development because as a country you do not need money to become developed, in the long term money will become more and more of an importance but as a goal you do not need money to beecome a developed country. the problem with money being a means and whether or not a country is developed if they are poor but have culture and human rights is that many poor countries do not have many freedoms and are lacking in the human rights department, as well as in the freedom to express the culture they come from. many poor countries have litttle to no human rights, whether it is directly afffected by money or not is something i would like to look up. i agree with his assertions that human rights are extremely important to becoming a developed country, how can you develop with no freedoms? and having a rich and growing culture is important to the people and affects the countries development. so i agree.

I think money is important for development because without it countries cannot reach its fullest potential. Every aspect of development is connected. Human rights is not possible without freedom and not possible without money. But money is not the most important!

I agree that money is important for development because money opens oppurtunities for other things to developed .Everything is all connected within each other . Like Felecia said human rights is not possible without freedom and not possible without money. Money may not be the most important thing for developing a country but it is a great factor for it.

I think that economic growth cannot be a goal because the only purpose of a good economy is to fuel things like health and culture. The only thing you can do with more money is to spend it on Rosling's other goals that he listed. And to have a society with high human rights and culture, I think that it is only possible to do with money. Things like culture arise from free time and arts but one needs money to be able to reach that status. I feel that he got the Economic part of his "Dimensions of Development" exactly correct but I think that more of the goals should go toward health and the prolonging of human life.

i do believe that money is an important means for a country but since its not a goal, not much can be done with it. money can create a new set of jobs, can circulate the economy and therefore enhance the development of a country. it isnt the most important means though, since without healthy citizens none of this can be possible.

I do believe that money is a very minimal factor in development, yet it doubles as a way to aquire a lot of the things that developed countries nowadays do have, like medical care, and human rights activists etc. Also, money can create jobs from which more people in a country can thrive, yielding to a better quality of life, whicch is probably one of the most important factors in my mind about development of a country.

I agree that money is the most important means, but not the most important goal. Money in and of itself is very important in terms of being able to provide for yourself and your family, and without it there would be no basis for standard of living. However, money is not the most important goal because the most important goal is doing something with your life that makes you happy and gets you excited about life. If your most important goal is rather to be happy, money somewhat falls by the wayside because it becomes less important how much money you have and more important that you're living a fulfilling life for yourself.

Money often times is the means thats forwards even some sense of culture. It envelops universal means to a status and structure for governance. Money in itself with nothing to give it ends and a purpose is essentially useless since it entails the basis for any foundation. Virtuous notions intended or not, the tendencies to be part of a collective does accrue for a need of a source of income to really buy a way into that collective and more over function into it. Culture can be skilled and detail oriented in being more over developed rather than money alone accounting for the the style of capitalism the united states essentially is diluted in amongst its melting pot collective of communities. each community really holds a foot due to paying its dues; in a literal and figurative sense. Culture is rich in certain spheres, just not so widespread as Rosling would intend.

Money is important to have in order to have a strong government and prospering nation. Money opens the doors to more development and more opportunities for the country. In order for a country to be fully developed it has to hav money, it is not the most important factor but it is a major one.
