The Internet provides unique opportunities for educators to access, use, modify, and share educational materials. Open Educational Resources (OER), as these free materials are called, can include "full courses, textbooks, streaming videos, exams, software, and any other materials or techniques supporting learning"http://www.hewlett.org/oer . The OER movement shows considerable potential to reduce cost, improve quality and widen access to educational opportunities. WikiEducator was launched in 2006 to turn tomorrow's promise for OER into today's reality for teachers, lecturers, and trainers around the world. WikiEducator is an international community of educators committed to the development of OER at all levels of the education system. WikiEducators are returning to the core value of education, namely to share knoweldge freely. In this session, experienced WikiEducators will share what the concept of "OER" and explore ideas on how to get the most from this rewarding project.

As today's tech-savvy teens become increasingly involved with technology and the Internet for learning, work, civic engagement, and entertainment, it is vital to ensure that they understand their legal rights and responsibilities under copyright law and also how the law affects creativity and innovation.

Virtual worlds are engaging, stimulating spaces where students can meet online for normal class activities, including lectures, discussions, case studies, projects, papers, exams, and labs. Classes are a mix of synchronous and asynchronous activity. A virtual world class differs from a traditional course management system, such as Blackboard or Moodle, due to the three-dimensional (3D) graphical setting, the use of avatars to represent the class participants, and the sense of presence that puts the learner within the scene.

A very humourous look at 21st century learning

Microsoft Word 2007 has a new built-in equation editor which is the default when you create equations. It no longer uses the Microsoft Equation 3.0 add-in by default, however you can still access and use it if you prefer. Using the Word 2007 equation editor, equations can only be inserted into Word 2007 and not into Excel 2007. However the previous Microsoft Equation Editor 3.0 is available in PowerPoint, or any application that supports OLE (Object Linking and Embedding).

By ICT Mindtools I refer to ICT tools that necessarily engage users in higher order thinking. Students cannot use Mindtools without thinking deeply about the task at hand. Mindtools require students to be creative and to think and make connections for themselves.
