"The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) illustrates how teachers can use technology to enhance learning for K-12 students. The TIM incorporates five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments: active, constructive, goal directed (i.e., reflective), authentic, and collaborative (Jonassen, Howland, Moore, & Marra, 2003). The TIM associates five levels of technology integration (i.e., entry, adoption, adaptation, infusion, and transformation) with each of the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments. Together, the five levels of technology integration and the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments create a matrix of 25 cells "
Crowd science or citizen science. The idea is to unlock thorny research projects by tapping the time and enthusiasm of the general public. In just the last few years, crowd science projects have generated notable contributions to fields as disparate as ecology, AIDS research, and astronomy. The average layperson becomes a part of a scientific team.
Blended Learning Open Source Science or Math Studies. This MIT initiative features a courseware library with about 50 math and science lessons, all freely available to teachers in multiple formats: as streaming video, Internet downloads, DVDs, and videotapes.
Each 50-minute lesson is a complete resource with video segments, a teacher's guide, downloadable hand-outs, and a list of online resources about the topic. The lessons mix short videos--all less than five minutes--with in-classroom exercises designed to engage students in problem solving and critical thinking.

search-cube offers a straightforward search box for entering search terms. The search results it yields, however, are images of home pages. These home pages are arranged on the six faces of a cube, with 16 sites displayed on each face.
It's easy to rotate the cube with the arrow keys on the keyboard, or by holding down the shift key and dragging the mouse. Rolling the cursor over an image on the cube brings up a larger image beside the cube, along with a little more information about the linked website.

With the click of a button, Readability removes advertising, sidebars and other distracting clutter from webpages. Content is presented in a style chosen by the reader, with preferred font size, margin-width, and contrast. I've shared no other application with educators that has drawn more emphatic exclamations of amazement and appreciation.
