Holy cow! If I used Google Talk, I'd definitely use these talkbots. They do lots of things: post RSS alerts, suscribe to friendfeeds, post to twitter, etc.

I know that all schools can't be like this.. er.. wait.. why not? And I'm not being silly here. Why can't all schools be like this? I'm not talking about the fact that these are college prep students. I'm talking about their connectedness. Why aren't our schools connecting and learning with students from around the world?

We have been talking a lot here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning about the potential of iPad in education and doing many iOS Apps Reviews but now you have the chance to  move to the practical part and be tutored by Apple experts on how to gear this technology to the advancement of your teaching and learning.

Since MIT's Lifelong Kindergarten group released Scratch in 2007, kids ages 8 to 13 have built more than 2.2 million animations, games, music, videos and stories using the kid-friendly programming language. Scratch allows kids to snap together graphical blocks of instructions, like Lego bricks, to control sprites-the movable objects that perform actions. Sprites can dance, sing, run and talk. Now, with a grant from the National Foundation of Science, Lifelong Kindergarten is collaborating with Tufts University's DevTech Research Group to make Scratch Jr, a new version aimed at kids in preschool to second grade. The expected launch date is summer 2012.
