The mission of the Waisman Center, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is to support the full inclusion and self determination of people with developmental disabilities and their families through:development of personnel qualified to provide services in the health, education, and social service systems provision of services, technical assistance and the dissemination of information, improvement of assessment, service and support approaches, contribution of new knowledge about the causes and prevention of developmental disabilities, the impact of disabilities on individuals and families, and the efficacy of different assessment, intervention and support methods.

Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) Communication and Media Support Services (CMSS)United States Department of Education - The Clearinghouse provides information to people with disabilities, or anyone requesting information, by doing research and providing documents in response to inquiries. Information provided includes areas of federal funding for disability-related programs. Clearinghouse staff is trained to refer requests to other sources of disability-related information, if necessary.

Increases access to assistive technology in North Dakota by engaging in activities that raise awareness, disseminate information, provide training and dssessments, work with policy makers, loan equipment for trial-use, and demonstrate assistive technology (AT) devices to individuals of all ages with disabilities and those experiencing the effects of aging throughout the state. IPAT increases AT acquisition by making available a used equipment bulletin board and an alternative financial loan program specific to the purchase of AT devices and services.
