An interesting example of how we can use the interactive hotspot feature of YouTube videos to make non-linear narratives (or "games"). How can we use these to make more engaging videos for e-learning purposes / tutorials?

Google Plus Opens to All & Announces 9 New Features - 0 views

  • Hangouts - the video chat feature - have come to mobile, currently supporting Android 2.3+ devices, and iOS support is "coming soon." Hangouts also now have an "On Air" feature, which allows any Google Plus user to tune in and watch. Furthermore, Hangouts now offer screensharing, a shared sketchpad, and names for Hangouts. But perhaps the killer app is Google Docs in Hangouts, which will open up the possibility of live collaborative work (especially once Google Apps accounts get access).

Prepare Yourselves: Facebook To Be Profoundly Changed - 0 views

  • Facebook launched three recent changes: revamped Friend Lists, a real-time news ticker, and the subscribe button. Friend Lists lets you share content with just your closest friends (with whom you have the strongest emotional connection), and the ticker lets you have real-time conversations with your friends as soon as they do anything. Subscribe lets you fill your News Feed with people you admire and respect, fostering a different type of emotional connection. But these changes are just the beginning. The changes Facebook will roll out on Thursday are designed to enhance the emotional connection its users have to each other through Facebook. These changes will make Facebook a place where nearly everything in your life is enhanced by your social graph. These changes will make it so you know your friends better than you ever thought you could. On Thursday, developers will be elated, users will be shellshocked and the competition will look ancient. On Thursday, Facebook will be reborn. Prepare yourselves for the evolution of social networking.

  • Organizing in Evernote
  • Access Information Anywhere, No Thumb Drive Necessary As a student, you’re all over the place: in class on your mobile device, at the gym, in your dorm room, at the library, etc. With Evernote, files, notes and documents are available to you everywhere – on your phone, your desktop, and anywhere you have an internet connection. That means that if you’re working in a computer lab, all your research is there. If you lost your thumb drive before your presentation, you can pull up your PowerPoint from a friend’s laptop. Having everywhere access to your Evernote account also means you can make great use of the in-between time we all tend to have. Whether you’re waiting for the bus, or for class to start, you can make quick edits to anything you’re working on. Evernote puts everything in one place, and makes it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for, no matter where you are. If you’re doing research, alone or in a group, Evernote saves time and helps keep you organized.

What is branding and what you want to do with it - 0 views

  •
this article makes me understand it's not how colorful or tons of materials or fanciful stuffs or brochure you feed to your audience's eyes. It is about delivering the kind of services we want, good customer support, quality content or sincerity to help them out and associating those services with the logo or brand. We should think more of the audience point of view to solve their needs than appearing more pushy.

Moodle Goes Mobile on iPhone -- THE Journal - 1 views

  • The open source learning management system Moodle has a new mobile companion. Developers at Moodle HQ have released a free app for iOS designed to work with Moodle 2.1 or later.
  • My Moodle isn't a replacement for the Moodle interface; rather, it just provides some additional tools tailored specifically for mobile users. These include the ability to: Capture video, still images, and audio and upload those to Moodle; Upload images and video from users' existing libraries; E-mail and message participants in users' courses; Add notes about users; Add course participants to users' iPhone contact lists; Get help through MoodleDocs; and Access the full Moodle site. (A separate login for the Web version is required with the version of the mobile app.)

For Fareed and anyone else interested in this mobile development.
