Adobe Dreamweaver and the jQuery Mobile framework - 1 views

  • jQuery goes mobile
  • ith a robust page/view mechanism supporting transitions, UI elements, dead-simple navigation, and list management, the jQuery Mobile framework provides everything you need to get up and running quickly with a mobile-savvy website or application without a complete crash-course in a new development model.
  • In the next version of Dreamweaver, we plan to allow easy creation of a jQuery Mobile project and easy insert objects to let you build out your user interfaces quickly and with confidence. Greatly expanded jQuery code hinting will help professionals make the best use of their time and enable designers to more effectively understand the syntax and structure of jQuery. Combined with the WebKit-powered Live View introduced in Dreamweaver CS4, you’ll be armed with some of the most powerful tools available to help your clients and projects move swiftly into a multiscreen world.

Technology Integration Matrix - 2 views

  • The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) illustrates how teachers can use technology to enhance learning for K-12 students
  • The TIM incorporates five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments: active, collaborative, constructive, authentic, and goal directed (Jonassen, Howland, Moore, & Marra, 2003). The TIM associates five levels of technology integration (i.e., entry, adoption, adaptation, infusion, and transformation) with each of the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments.
  • Together, the five levels of technology integration and the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments create a matrix of 25 cells.
  •
Perhaps we can use this matrix for our workshops as well.

Nice find! I particularly like the concept items on the x-axis and they could be used for evaluating e-learning. The vertical concepts are a bit dated.

10 Things CMOs Need To Know About Google+ - On Marketing - Views On The Business Of Bra... - 0 views

  • Google+ is already indexed and searched by Google, making marketing searches much easier than other platforms. Just drop “site:plus.google.com” before any search in Google, and you’ll see what people are saying about you inside the platform.
  • Don’t think “social network.” Think “communications backbone.” This tool allows for private collaboration (privacy is much easier to understand here, but it does require some learning), and permits a “one stop” kind of area for talking internally and externally without causing problems. And it works with email, not in lieu of email.
  • Google+ evolves from Gmail. No matter what the kiddies say, email is still the digital communications backbone of the modern world. SMS might feel like second place, but it’s a distant second. Google+ is very tied to Gmail, with hundreds of millions of users. It feels very natural as an extension in a way that Twitter and Facebook do not.
  • ...1 more annotation...
  • A social network made by Google impacts search. Google isn’t saying it like that, because they wouldn’t want to cause a panicking stampede, but think about this: Google has all the data from Google+. They can’t get any data from Facebook. Google controls search. Where would you cast your vote for search-improvement activities?

Google Plus Opens to All & Announces 9 New Features - 0 views

  • Hangouts - the video chat feature - have come to mobile, currently supporting Android 2.3+ devices, and iOS support is "coming soon." Hangouts also now have an "On Air" feature, which allows any Google Plus user to tune in and watch. Furthermore, Hangouts now offer screensharing, a shared sketchpad, and names for Hangouts. But perhaps the killer app is Google Docs in Hangouts, which will open up the possibility of live collaborative work (especially once Google Apps accounts get access).

Kinect Hackers Are Changing the Future of Robotics | Magazine - 0 views

  • On November 4, a solution was discovered—in a videogame. That’s the day Microsoft released the Kinect for Xbox 360, a $150 add-on that allows players to direct the action in a game simply by moving their bodies. Most of the world focused on the controller-free interface, but roboticists saw something else entirely: an affordable, lightweight camera that could capture 3-D images in real time.
  • When DIYers combine those cheap, powerful tools with the collaborative potential of the Internet, they can come up with the kinds of innovations that once sprang only from big-budget R&D labs. In 2009, a PhD student named Daniel Reetz turned two Canon PowerShot A590s into an improvised high-speed book scanner. He detailed the project on a website, DIYbookscanner.org, where readers have since posted hundreds of tweaks, suggestions, upgrades, and entirely new designs. The open source MPGuino project, which uses an Arduino microcontroller to track gas consumption as you drive, has inspired a small community of fans who help refine and customize the gizmo.
