Seems like an interesting tool for getting students to practice oral skills outside of the classroom as well. I might like to use this idea at the beginning of the school year to have students introduce themselves to one another.

  • Decide on a common naming convention for your students to follow when saving their 'Boo'.

This is important so you can find them again!
  •
This is for the iTouch - but it also works on Android devices pretty much the same way
  •
I like that audioboo is an app. I am pretty much connected to my iphone (it's an extension of my arm) and audioboo seemed to be the only one that was mentioned that had an iphone app.

This site could be useful for groups that will be traveling abroad. It could also be a way to connect with other groups traveling abroad.
  •
This is "The Story of Exploroo" found on the actual Exploroo website.
  •
I really like this site. I also like the fact you can use it to get unbiased opinions about potential vacation spots. We love to travel and I can see myself using this in the future.

I like the fact that I can have control over the discussion and can edit student responses. Also, the fact that student's privacy is protected is great. If I wanted to, I could project my computer screen and the students could see their comments being posted in real time.

Wallwisher and Middlespot as a tool for story telling - 0 views

  •
There is quite a few posts about Wallwisher on youtube. I wanted to share this one because the author explains how to use the tool to entice students to create an extended text that they can share with other students for comments. Combining the post-its to paragraphs and an overall texts is also a great way to look at text strucure overall. He also introduces another tool Middlespot which looks even more suitable for story telling. Check it out!

Cool!! If anyone is looking to see how a hangout could work, and you speak Spanish or Chinese, maybe try this out!
  • The idea is simple: I want to host a public Hangout (so anyone can join) and people may come in and practice with me any one of the three languages I speak (Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and yes English too!).  I’m not counting Japanese yet because I still can’t really produce Japanese effectively.

This really struck me because, as a hearing person, I take for granted that there might be issues for hearing-impaired people. It's so cool to me that developers are concerned about these users and are working to make their product a good one for them. This could also be relevant to those who wish to chat online with ASL "speakers" when they are trying to learn ASL!

Photobucket is the most popular picture site online - Mar. 28, 2007 - 0 views

    • Kathryn Kerekes

I'm not an expert at photo-storing websites, but isn't this what Flickr does as well?
  •
Photobucket is the most important site on the Internet that hardly anybody understands. Unpretentiously, it has built an essential service that didn't need to shout out for attention, the way MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, or other related sites have. Yet it's built an audience of 38 million members, a figure now growing more than 80,000 per day.
