This is a smart little app to create and edit your own apps for Apple and Android, and both Mac and Windows PCs and tablets. Be forewarned that it has to leave cookies on your machine, but you can supposedly develop and run your edits in your own web browser. Clever students will figure out ways to use it constructively. Both local and YouTube tutorials available.

This page explains how to create a Google form. You can make a quiz for your students and email it to them, collecting data from the form. You can require respondents to sign in to use the document, which helps with security. See the sidebar on the left for more instructions and tutorials.

Kaizena is a wonderful tool for giving oral feedback. This may be faster and more explanatory when working with student essays than writing comments. You will probably give more feedback, and perhaps more positive feedback than when writing cyptic notes. Oral commenting also gives students some listening practice. R. Stannard's video tutorial on LiveBinders.com, which is useful for creating online digital portfolios. Use LB to create webpages. This video has some examples to show the potential (entry level LB is free), ways to set up tabs and creating a good design, embedding video, and so on.

This short video (7+ min.) explains what social bookmarking is and how to use Diigo for education. It starts with a walk-through of creating an account, selecting and using tags, installing a Chrome extension (also works well with Firefox) or diigolet on your browser, and how to actually bookmark a page. Other video tutorials explain the lists function and setting up groups.
