A session on TESOL Technology Standards: Why, How, and for Whom. This explanation of the new TESOL Tech Standards explains how they were developed and where to find them online. There are many good lesson plans in the Standards, demonstrating how good technology can be embedded in good practices at many levels and with many levels of technology access.

Webinar on gaming. These recordings of the proceedings are of interest to anyone who wants to use games and/or insert gamification elements into their classroom routines. This webcomference was a joint effort of IATEFL's LTSIG and the TESOL CALL-IS.

"Peer review has long been regarded as beneficial practice in the teaching of writing. In North American educational settings, learners are often asked to provide feedback on each other's papers. However, when international students come to study either in intensive English programs or in institutions of higher education, they may encounter difficulties during peer review activities because many of them never had experiences with this kind of practice. As a result, students tend to give each other broad, irrelevant, essentially unhelpful comments." This blog post offers help in training students for giving good feedback.

The new TESOL English as a Foreign Language IS website. The site includes a forum, a news section, information on sessions, and a list of proposals.

"Between 2006 and 2008, while teaching "Ethics for Teachers" to EFL teacher trainees at "Profesorado del Liceo Cultural Británico" (Buenos Aires - Argentina ), and certainly encouraged by the inspiring discussions that were taking place at TESOL EVO workshops, I had the chance to explore the integration of student blogs into the course. Class members were invited to start their own blogs (which I then linked and followed by means of a Feevy students in turn chose to embed into their blog templates) and weekly post their reflections on assigned readings. Since the topics discussed took in sharing values and personal experiences, this seemed a perfect occasion for fostering individual expression. Serving other aims of the course - the development of interculturalism and appreciation of diversity - the weekly assignment also involved posting a comment on at least an entry made by a partner."

Presentation Zen: The Video is a nice video on this TESOL member's YouTube channel. Garr Reynolds is an expert in design, so his advice is reall significant, and the language and use of media is good for high intermediate or higher level.

"Digital stories-short and economical personal narrative pieces that use image, voice, sound effects, and music to convey meaning-can be a powerful form for creative and engaging student projects." Describes why digital stories make good collaborative projects, and how to do it, with examples and students' journal reflections.

"The grammar blog is a weekly assignment I use in my high-advanced reading/writing classes for pre-matriculation international graduate students.... Each student chooses a grammar error or interesting/confusing sentence to focus on each week. Students read their classmates' posts and give feedback, and then I answer any remaining questions. The grammar blog is a motivating, student-driven, focus-on-form activity that engages students in important questions of syntax (grammar), semantics (meaning), lexis (vocabulary), and register."
