Downloadable app to use Word Magnets on your own computer (requires registration). Sentences are broken up into words that can be rearranged and moved around the desktop to make poetry, re-create a target sentence, or make new sentences and punctuate it. A crazy huge collection of free curriculum resources, well sorted by age, theme, subject, et al., and with a search engine. These would be great for lessons in geography, history, social studies, ecology, intercultural understanding, etc. Many of the resources are activities, such as "Be an African Family" where you decide how to make the most of the rural village where you live.

You can insert your own quizzes into YouTube videos. This might be a fun way to test students. "Using Blubbr you can create interactive quizzes that are based on YouTube clips. Your quizzes can be about anything of your choosing. The structure of the quizzes has a viewer watch a short clip then answer a multiple choice question about the clip. Viewers know right away if they chose the correct answer or not. To create a quiz on Blubbr start by entering a topic for your quiz. After entering your topic enter a search for a video about that topic. Blubbr will generate a list of videos that you can select from to use in your quiz. R. Stannard on Quizlet - introduces Quizlet aspects, including Flashcards and testing; how to create study sets and use folders to organize your review materials for students.

A short lesson plan -- how to do a role-play in class. This is a nice model that can be revised and used for other situational learning role-plays.

Not well organized, but packed with fun-learning sites that kids can use on their own, or that teachers might want to incorporate into class projects. Not just for summer!

A great tool for developing quickly memorized vocabulary. The teacher (or students) can add pictures. The tool creates quizzes of various types--type in the answer, drag and drop, etc., after you have had a learning period. Many different uses and offers so much variety the student is dragged more practice than he expects!
