At the Minnesota Historical Society we've been collecting, preserving, and telling Minnesota stories for 150 years.

This is a great site. Any of the programs the MNHS puts on are always great if you are looking for hands on education, too.

WhiteHouse.gov is the official web site for the White House and President Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States. This site is a source for information about the President. Briefing room includes speeches, press briefings and presidential action. Issue link incorporates information from civil rights, economy to taxes and foreign policy. Overview of our govement is also included. The site has the history, presidents, Camp David, Oval Offices, Tour and Event information just to name a few.

News from newspapers around the world.

This has different areas of science; chemistry, enginerring, and forces and energy. Teachers and students can click on the experiment they wish to try. There are step by step instructions and a material list provided. Children also comment on the results from conducting the experiment, which are listed after the directions.

Spend, share, and save. Students can learn the difference between wants and needs. Lessons on earning and spending money. Also lessons on paying taxes. Great sight for teachers. as well as games for students.

This site has so many great uses. Not only can the teacher use it for some background information, but it is interactive. This feature will make it great for use by students also.

Thank you for adding a site that describes so much different technology. I love the use of technology in the classroom and so do students. This is a great tool to use when I need to add something new in the class.

After learning about so many different cultures in Human Resources I have learned that I didn't know a lot before. I am so glad that you added this site so that we can teach our students more about different cultures before they leave high school and get into the working environment.

I have also added another site similar to this one. This is a place to go to find contact information for the Representatives from each area. Students can easily access this information for writing letters.

Besides the contact info (which is wonderful), this site has a section for kids, which teaches them various things about the senate and more. It also has teacher resources. This is a great site, one which could be very useful to a teacher,even if just to gain some knowledge.

A great website for children to learn about Barack Obama. This website discusses parts of his life and helps children understand who our president is.

This is a great overview of Obama's life thus far. This site also links to a ton of information about the presidency, it is very kid-friendly. It would be a great link for my kid lit wiki.

It is important to show students how women in history have had an impact in their lives today. This site is a great resource for students and teachers.

I am so happy this is one to share. Women history is very important because it seems like most students think of Men in history. This is another great resource for us-I think I may share this with some current teachers now to see if they can use it.

This is a resource geared toward parents. It could be something given to parents hardcopy, suggested reading for parents via the internet, and/or used by the teacher. There are suggestions for books, magazines, activities, etc. as additional resources.

Multicultural Resources

Great resource where teachers can link to sites that provide multicultural lesson plans, project ideas, papers with suggestions for incorporating multiculturalism into the classroom, epals, multilingual search engines, etc.
