"Ese es el sentido no solamente de los miles de tuits en que chicas (que en sus vidas reales sostienen vínculos amistosos y/o sexoafectivos con varones) hablan de todo lo que odian a los hombres sino también de los memes y GIFs que aluden a "male tears" (lágrimas masculinas) y aparecen seguido en discusiones en las redes: incluso se puede comprar tazas con la leyenda (para tomarse unas "male tears" con el café de la mañana). ¿Contribuye este tipo de humor a la violencia en los discursos, digamos, a una "misandria real"? Más bien, todo indica, lo contrario: el humor es una forma perfectamente pacífica de contestar discursos de odio y responderles a personas que pretendían herirnos. Al mismo tiempo, el humor no detiene la conversación (como la haría una respuesta insultante "en serio") sino que muchas veces permite que esa charla continúe y cambie de tono. Otras veces, cuando la discusión realmente no tenía chances de llegar a buen puerto, es una forma relativamente rápida y elegante de sacársela de encima. Por otra parte, las chicas que recurren a la misandria irónica muchas veces establecen así lazos de complicidad, fortaleciendo la sororidad: otras chicas les contestan y así, sin demasiada solemnidad ni dramatismos, pueden acompañarse y reírse juntas de los micromachismos de la vida cotidiana. ¿Son discriminatorios estos discursos? Podríamos decir que siguen la misma regla que el humor judío: si el que se ríe es el oprimido, entonces ese humor es corrosivo del status quo. Si es el opresor el que se ríe del oprimido, en cambio, entonces ese humor refuerza las relaciones del poder vigentes, y sí, discrimina. El feminismo es un movimiento político que vale la pena tomarse muy en serio: los memes antivarones, en cambio, son solamente un chiste."
