This paper by Terry Anderson and Jon Dron of Athabasca University is relevant to our discussions in Blended Learning. Although their focus is pure distance education, the constructs presented in their material are relevant to our BlendKit2014 work. I think we need to be more clear about how our pedagogical approach drives our learning design.

They have evolved over time and provide innovative leadership and training across Ontario. Their "Pockets of Innovation" provides case studies on a range of initiatives, including blended learning.

Good conversation (brief) about learning and the flipped model

The flipped learning model of instruction has begun to make the transition from an educational buzzword to a normative practice among many university instructors, and with good reason. Flipped learning provides many benefits for both faculty and students.

As electronic communication becomes increasingly common, and as students juggle study, work, and family life, many universities are offering their students more flexible learning opportunities. Classes once delivered face-to-face are often replaced by online activities and discussions. However, there is little research comparing students' experience and learning in these two modalities.

I found this article from the Journal of Asynchronous Learning to be an interesting assessment of the effectiveness of blended courses in a specific university. I particularly like the research methodology and the way in which assessment incorporated student and instructor feedback.
