C’est justement à l’occasion d’une formation pour les médiathèques de Massy, j’ai eu le plaisir de constater l’existence des « verdicts« . Je trouve le terme très bien trouvé parce qu’il indique une prise de position sans que celle-ci soit forcément positive comme les « coups de coeurs » ou le sens commun du mot critique connoté négativement. Plus encore, la médiathèque de Massy pratique la citation de manière habile, de manière à provoquer des débats avec les lecteurs. Car c’est bien de cela dont il s’agit : faire circuler les oeuvres et les savoirs pour en favoriser l’appropriation.

A ma connaissance outre Massy, les médiathèques du Val d’Europe et les médiathèques de Romans-sur-Isère utilisent ces étiquettes. A Romans, les bibliothécaires ont eu l’intelligence d’y ajouter un QR code et un lien pour permettre facilement au lecteur de réagir à une critique. C’est ce que j’appelle un « dispositif passerelle » parce qu’il provoque une passerelle vers un territoire numérique à partir d’un espace tangible :

Je me dis souvent qu’aux instabilités et aux complexités des « ressources numériques » répond une stabilité très forte de la fonction de médiation des bibliothèques. Personne ne sait si demain les bibliothèques pourront offrir des accès à des livres numériques en masse (elle le pourront  mais à quels prix?) mais il est certain que la question de l’orientation dans les contenus est incontournable parce qu’elle est liée à l’abondance des contenus. Cette question se pose aujourd’hui comme demain face à l’océan des imprimés et du web. Elle ouvre un champ passionnant d’expérimentation autour des dispositifs de médiation. Je remercie la bibliothèque de Massy et celle de Romans pour m’avoir fait parvenir ces éléments.

Changes expand access to Special Interest Group conference proceedings Working with the computing community, ACM leadership has responded to calls to make scholarly articles more openly accessible, to enable authors to exercise greater control of their published works, and to comply with the increasing demands placed on authors by funding agencies.  ACM authors now have three ways to manage their publication rights with ACM: A license granting ACM non-exclusive permission to publish—by choosing to pay for perpetual open access from the ACM Digital Library, authors may opt to self-manage all rights to their work. A new Publishing License Agreement granting ACM exclusive publication rights—in choosing this license authors grant ACM the right to serve as the exclusive publisher of their work and to manage ongoing rights and permissions associated with the work, including the right to defend it against improper use by third parties. This exclusive license is roughly the equivalent of ACM’s traditional Copyright Transfer Agreement except that the author continues to hold copyright. ACM's traditional Copyright Transfer Agreement—for authors comfortable with the existing agreement. ACM is also implementing changes to to allow for more free access to the content of ACM journals and Special Interest Group conference proceedings in the ACM Digital Library and other online venues: SIGs may choose to enable open access to the most current proceedings volume of their sponsored conferences from the conference or SIG site.SIGs may make conference proceedings freely available via the ACM DL platform for up to two weeks before the event, and for a total of one month. These options will facilitate access to proceedings content by conference attendees. They will also enable the community at large to learn about the latest developments as they are presented at the conferences.
