Great point, Rhys. I would say that it's best to keep this site internal for our own team. However, it might make sense to use this site as a model to support the growth of an school wide Diigo group.

    Authors say these applications are, "technology every educator should know." Some new applications... I was impressed that the authors include alignment to NETS-T for each tool. We can share the NETS alignment along with the tool.

    Excellent! Takes a while to search through, but there is something for everyone here and it's a good resource for us to find good new tools to use for in-school PD sessions. It's one of those sites you need to revisit every few months.

    Nice tie-in to Social Studies projects (most likely 8th grade). The trees that still live from the time of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima are called, Hibaku trees (A-bombed trees) -- I've sent away for some seeds for us.

  • The iPad project arose from day-to-day demands within the school. As Head of Computing, a dozen iMacs were fixed in Fraser's classroom, and a dozen MacBooks were available for booking; but with teachers increasingly wanting to provide pupils with web access, pressure and demand grew.
  • Apple's tablet dealt with every problem the school had with the iPod touch: it boasted a decent software keyboard and projector connection, and Apple made office apps available for sale. On importing his own iPad from the US, Fraser was sold: "On the first day, it ran and ran. I couldn't make the battery die, and I realised this alone would transform the technology experience in the classroom."

    Hi everyone, Aviary is an online suite of multimedia programs. They're very similar to Photoshop, Garageband, Illustrator etc, but FREE and WEB-BASED. Basically like Google docs but multimedia creation software. Would be cool for class projects and/or students who want to experiment with media programs but don't have any installed on their computer.
