Classrooms for the Future - 0 views

  • The vertical axis on the left is Complexity, with explicit reference to rigor or new Bloom’s taxonomy from basic on the bottom to higher order at the top.  The horizontal axis is Instruction from teacher centered or didactic instruction to student centered or constructivist instruction.  The diagonal axis ranges from more abstract, artificial activities to authentic, real world or relevant activities.
  • The goal of CFF is to create more learning opportunities that are where the three axes meet in the upper right hand corner of the chart.
  • To make these changes, teachers and school leaders participate in extensive professional development on how to best harness the power of technology to increase student achievement and ensure students are ready for college and the high-tech global job market.

The school that gives every student an iPad | News | TechRadar UK - 0 views

  • The iPad project arose from day-to-day demands within the school. As Head of Computing, a dozen iMacs were fixed in Fraser's classroom, and a dozen MacBooks were available for booking; but with teachers increasingly wanting to provide pupils with web access, pressure and demand grew.
  • Apple's tablet dealt with every problem the school had with the iPod touch: it boasted a decent software keyboard and projector connection, and Apple made office apps available for sale. On importing his own iPad from the US, Fraser was sold: "On the first day, it ran and ran. I couldn't make the battery die, and I realised this alone would transform the technology experience in the classroom."

Save YouTube - Download YouTube Videos Online for Free - 3 views

Replacement for Kickyoutube.com We need to try this from within the DOE proxy and find out if we can copy URLs of youtube videos from a Google search index and paste them into here to download.  That would be nice.

I'm at a school right now and tried what you suggested. No dice.
  •
http://www.mdphs.org/-links-and-techno-resources/how-to-download-a-youtube-or-other-on-line-video FYI - The directions on this school website also has the same problems on not being able to read the youtube video while in school
  •
Yeah -- I tried both of these options and can't get them to work. The proxy still picks up the words "youtube" in the URL and blocks it "Reason: The Websense category "Youtube and video Google" is filtered.". So they'll still need to download from home.
