I completely agree with this idea. Social media cannot stop the president/ politicians from spreading their ideas and opinions as they shouldn't be able to for anyone else. They should get treated the same and if anything is better for us as people to see what they post and get better/ easier insights on their personal views. We have the right to know our president's views and they have the right to express them. Especially since so many people are on social media it helps educate people better than just reading what the news say that they say.

I dont agree with this becuase it's dumb why would a state be able to control what a private owned company does or doesn't do.

North Korea has always been an issue and I think they should keep an eye on them. We've almost always had issues with them it's hard to imagine being allies with them like that.

I think they should go into lockdown to make sure everyone is safe.

I think there are some things the school or parents have the right to do. The parents have the right to send them to whatever school they and their child choose. The school has the right to restrict the child from doing certain things that could result in a code of conduct brake. According to the government, they say a child must attend school until they are 18 and are considered an adult. I believe that is all the government should be allowed to do. It's then up to the student to continued their education or go into the workforce.

I think that the government's power should be to help people get an education, but it's up to the parents and students to decide where to go and if they want to go on for more schooling. For some jobs, college might not help as much as a trade school, and that's a decision for the parents and student to decide.

It seems as if we need a better way to tally our votes, maybe government secured voting so it can't be hacked?

It did in fact make good sense. I concede that the physical transition, so to speak, would be fairly simple, however I am more concerned that the math would not be that simple to adjust and still aquire the desired results. I can't say that I have a lot of reasonably credible sources, but as a citizen, my concerns would be that the transition would just cause the same issues, but with twice the ammount of people being paid to do the job. As far as I could tell, there is no way to be certain that the adjustment would work as desired, so my question is: do you have a method that would ensure that we would not just be paying twice the price for the same job with the comfort of more poeple doing it? I don't think I saw anything regarding that, so I hope that is a reasonable question.

I think Congress is just bossy............ that is why they are not big enough..

I feel like we can't go on a full lockdown. This will make the economy even worse than it currently is.

I don't think we should go into lockdown again but if people keep lifting up their masks, we're probably gonna have to go into lockdown again.

I feel that the issue is passed on now and we no longer need the lockdown or quarantine. Most people have already passed this issue on in their heads.

Rising taxes for the rich in unjust and rising taxes for everyone is just dumb. They spend our tax money on useless things like art work instead of helping the very thing that keeps this country going... The people.

I don't think that taxing the wealthy will really solve anything. The money won't go to the middle class, it will be tax money. Which goes to the state, which gets spent on different items. Tax money isn't just transferred to the pockets of the people of the lower and middle class.

People seem to be a lot more confrontational when discussing politics online. This article doesn't surprise me at all. On of the comments on the cnn page says this: "We're truly a nation of petulant teenaged adults who can't stand to hear anything but our own opinions trumpeted, and anything that smacks of disagreement, we put our fingers in our ears and sing the "Star Spangled Banner" at the tops of our callow lungs. Good lord, we need to grow up." I agree with it. Whenever people post political statements/articles on facebook they seem to have the expectation that all of their friends will agree with them, and get offended when someone has a different opinion. It's not surprising that confrontations on the internet have led to friendships breaking.

I agree with McCain on this, it seems like a bad decision. Almost all of this money will undoubtedly go to the Democratic or Republican party, and it will be even more difficult for third party candidates to be competitive.

Obama seems to have a lot more support then Romney money wise. I wonder if that is going to have an outcome on the election, or if bigger the more wealthy just support Obama, even though Romney is the one saying not to Tax them. This is very interesting to me.

This was incredibly amusing to me. I would really like to doubt this was his intention (perhaps a terrible spray-tan mishap?), as you would have to think very low of your voters to do so purposely. However, he has also received a lot of flak for seemingly pandering to everyone for votes -- this certainly fits that image.

I really don't think Mitt Romney would do this because he is desperate for votes, I think the election is running a very close race. Again, he is only human, it could have been a bad spray tan or too much sun on his face or maybe someone who who was getting him "camera ready" put the wrong shade of make up on his face. It could be a number of possibilities, and for people to assume that he "dyed his face brown" to get more votes is ridiculous.

Personally, I would not want one, for it to run on detailed maps, and be able to override and read every factor of driving, it would require the internet. Assuming it is using google maps, what if it cannot connect to the internet? That's dangerous. To add, like ever machine, there is going to be an error, and this will probably raise accident rates.

. . . Google in general honestly kind of scares me. Like, yeah, the Chromes and Docs and stuff are beneficial for school things, but they don't have to try to take over the world. (And Payton brought up a good point with the car needing to be connected to the internet to work.) Also, has anyone heard about how Google asks you for your real name instead of allowing you to use a screen name (or something like that)? I remember, I think it was two days ago, that I was going to post a comment on a YouTube video that I had watched with my YouTube account that I've had since 2007, and then Google was all like, "Oh hey want to show your real name instead of your screen name?" and I was like, "Heck no." And there have been times where they purposely log me out of my Google account, and then when I sign back in, they ask for my cell phone number and I click skip because I'm not giving my number to Google. It's for some stupid information loss thing or whatever. But who knows if they're actually protecting your personal information and your privacy?

This article just reminds me how much we need to overhaul our presidential election system. It's sort of sad, really.

I found this interesting after seeing the petition to secede article. After all, many have berated Abraham Lincoln for defying the rights of the states, and this is an interesting point of view on the idea of a state seceding from the US.
