The 2010 Global Education Conference will be held November 15 - 19, 2010, online and free.  Sessions will be held in multiple time zones and multiple languages over the five days.  We are now accepting proposals for presentations.  The conference is a collaborative and world-wide community effort to significantly increase opportunities for globally-connecting education activities and initiatives.   (To clarify, this is a worldwide conference on globally-connected education, not a "global conference on general education").  All sessions will be held in the Elluminate platform, will be broadcast live, and will be available in recorded formats afterwards. There is no formal registration required for the conference, as all the sessions will be open and public.  The session schedule will be posted here starting in early November.  You are encouraged to consider presenting, and should use the "Call for Presentations" tab above.

An e-Journal from the EINet: "Impact: Journal of Applied Research in Workplace E-learning A publication of the E-learning Network of Australasia (ElNet) *** Inaugural issue published! *** Editor-in-Chief: Mark J.W. Lee Impact has been established to address the paucity of research publication avenues with a particular emphasis on e-learning in organisational and workplace settings. It publishes both refereed and non-refereed contributions from both researchers and practitioners relating to the design, implementation, evaluation and management of workplace e-learning across a range of sectors and industries. One special issue will be published in the journal's first year of operation (2009). This will increase to two issues in 2010, followed by quarterly publication in 2011 and subsequent years. Articles in the first (inaugural) issue will be freely available electronically to the general public as soon as they are published; thereafter, the journal will adopt a delayed open access model, whereby issues published within the last six months will be restricted to viewing by paid subscribers, including financial members of ElNet, while all other content is accessible free-of-charge. Das E-Learning-Länderzentrum, eine der ältesten E-Learning-Einrichtungen auf Bundesländerebene in Deutschland feierte im November 2010 seinen 10. Geburtstag. In der Jubiläumsveranstaltung wurde der Schwerpunkt auf neue Studienformate und die Verbindung von akademischer und beruflicher Bildung gelegt. Das Jubiläum nahm e-teaching.org zum Anlass und sprach mit Dr. Konrad Faber, Geschäftsführer des VCRP, u. a. über die Ideen zur Gründung des VCRP, über dessen Weiterentwicklung, darüber, wohin die Reise in nächster Zeit gehen soll, über das Online-Qualifizierungsprogramm TBDL - sowie über seine eigenen Lieblingsprojekte.

Heute mache ich etwas, was ich an sich nicht tue - zumindest nicht öffentlich ;-) Auf Wunsch von @lisarosa, @akpe, @ralfa, @mediendidaktik und einigen mehr versuche ich heute meine Bewertungskriterien von Blogbeiträgen der Studierenden offen zu legen. Dabei beziehe ich mich im Wesentlichen auf das w.e.b.Square-Seminar im vergangenen Wintersemester, das ich zusammen mit Marianne und Tamara durchgeführt habe und als Projektseminar durchgeführt wurde mit dem Ziel, die (damals) 3. w.e.b.Square-Tagung zu organisieren.

I found this video on Jim Groom's website set up to support a course on storytelling. Jim says "Here is a fascinating and quick seven minute video that features interviews with a variety of scholars, theorists, activists, and participants in the changing nature of storytelling. How do they frame social media and participatory culture in this equation?" It is particularly good to see that Jim has put the whole course up on an open Wordpress blog. There's lots of explore there - Open Learning at its best!

Die vorliegende regionale Bedarfsanalyse stellt den aktuellen Stand, den Bedarf, die Trends und die Barrieren beim Einsatz von Web 2.0-Anwendungen in der Berufs- und Erwachsenenbildung in Baden-Württemberg (D) dar. Sie bildet die Grundlage für die Entwicklung des SVEA-Lehrgangssystems mit dem Web 2.0 und der kollaborativen Plattform mit dem Ziel, die Akzeptanz des Web 2.0 in Einrichtungen der Erwachse- nenbildung in Europa zu fördern. Die Analyse beleuchtet zunächst den aktuellen Stand der Verbreitung von IKT und Social Media in Deutschland. Im Anschluss daran werden der Bedarf, die Trends und die Barrieren im Zusammenhang mit der Integration von Web 2.0-Anwendungen in die Berufs- und Erwachsenenbildung erörtert.

Einführung ins Urheberrecht Auch wenn der Trend klar zu CreativeCommons geht: Die Sensibilität für das Urheberrecht in Schulen, in der Medienpädagogik und in der Jugendarbeit wächst, die Zahl der Begleitmaterialien auch. Eine Broschüre von Schulen ans Netz ergänzt den Reigen der Publikation zum Thema und beantwortet grundlegende Fragen wie "Was sind urheberrechtlich geschützte Werke?" oder "Welche Werke sind frei nutzbar?" Hilfreich besonders für den Bildungsbereich sind Hinweise zum Zitieren und zur Veröffentlichung von SchülerInnenarbeiten.
