It's Easier to Organize Files in Google Docs - 0 views

  •
"Google Docs now lets you move a file to a folder without using the Docs list. Just click the "folder" icon next to the title of the file and you can pick one or more folders. This works for documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, PDF files and any other files."

Swiffy: convert SWF files to HTML5 - The official Google Code blog - 0 views

  •
"Some Google projects really do start from one person hacking around. Last summer, an engineering intern named Pieter Senster joined the mobile advertising team to explore how we could display Flash animations on devices that don't support Adobe Flash player. Pieter made such great progress that Google hired him full time and formed a team to work on the project. Swiffy was born! Today we're making the first version of Swiffy available on Google Labs. You can upload a SWF file, and Swiffy will produce an HTML5 version which will run in modern browsers with a high level of SVG support such as Chrome and Safari. It's still an early version, so it won't convert all Flash content, but it already works well on ads and animations. We have some examples of converted SWF files if you want to see it in action."

ePubs in Action | Smore - 0 views

  •
ePub is an internationally recognized standard for sharing "reflowable" content. Essentially, the ePub is a file format that allows the mobile device to read the file and optimize the content within for viewing. This helps level the playing field by giving each student the optimal user experience based on the device they own, without any additional demands on the instructor. ePubs allow for the resizing of text, easy chaptering of long works, inline video and image display with the ability to resize and much more.

Projects: A better way to work in classroom groups - 1 views

  •
We're calling this new feature Projects. Whenever you have a particular assignment or activity, you can create a project for it, then define teams of members, each with its own unique pages, files, and permissions. Team content (that is, pages and files) are grouped together, separate from the main area of the wiki. That way, students in teams can do their group work completely independently from other teams.

Anonymous' Megaupload Revenge Shows Copyright Compromise Isn't Possible - Technology - ... - 0 views

  •
"Anonymous' devious and speedy campaign to undermine the defenders of copyright yesterday served both as revenge for the loss of Megaupload and a demonstration of the futility of trying to police the Wild West of the Internet. Within minutes of the Justice Department's triumphant announcement about the seizing of the massive file-sharing site, their own website was taken offline by a massive denial of service attack. The Web presences of the FBI, the MPAA, the RIAA, and several entertainment corporations involved in the case soon followed, as those tasked with protecting the Web from piracy were once again unable to protect themselves. Megaupload Taken Down On Piracy Allegations | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
"Popular file-hosting site Megaupload, probably known to our readers for a variety of reasons, has been taken down after the FBI charged some of its staff with copyright infringement and "conspiracy to commit racketeering." Seven people have been charged, and four arrested (in New Zealand), and the site itself appears to be down as authorities around the world closed in on the site's resources."
