"The fundamental goal of the Urban Institute's Arts and Culture Indicators Project (ACIP) is to help policymakers make better decisions for neighborhoods and cities. To this end, ACIP provides researchers, practitioners, and policymakers with information about the presence and role of arts and culture in communities-how arts and culture affect neighborhood conditions and community dynamics. Specifically, ACIP develops quantifiable measures of arts and culture and integrates them into quality of life measurement systems that can compare conditions across communities and in the same community over time. Burning Man is an annual event and a thriving year-round culture. The event takes place the week leading up to and including Labor Day, in Nevada's Black Rock Desert. The Burning Man organization (Black Rock City LLC) creates the infrastructure of Black Rock City, wherein attendees (or "participants") dedicate themselves to the spirit of community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance.

My chemistry teacher in high school goes to burning man every single year. One class period he dedicated the entire hour and a half class on telling us about burning man and showing us his pictures.

I would love to one day experience Burning Man! I have heard nothing but great things about other people's experiences about the music, art, and community it brings together.

I have always been a dancer so the art world surrounding dance has always been one of a fascination for me. Oregon Ballet Theatre is really big in Portland where I am from and I grew up attending all of there shows, such as Swan Lake or The Nutcracker. They are preform the rendition of Swan Lake on the 26th of this month and I would highly recommend going!

Catch Divisi every Friday performing with On the Rocks and Mind the Gap from 3:45 - 5pm at the EMU Amphitheater! I sung in high school and always thought this form of music was extremely interesting. I saw that On the Rocks was mention and thought the Ladies should be as well!
