  This gem of a school located in NE Portland has been loved by the neighborhood for years. McMenamin's has repurposed the building built in 1905 to become a hotel, bar, and a place to display art. The building now features 57 rooms with bath phone while still keeping the original chalk boards. Through out the building there are several bars and a brewery.

  This place sounds like a lot of fun, and a great way to preserve an old building. Turning something into a place for contemporary art and cultural practices is a way to maintain a mix of old culture with modern culture.
