In 2008, a region-wide Creative Action Plan prioritized the need for a new dedicated funding stream for arts and arts education. The Creative Advocacy Network (CAN) was established as an independent 501(c)3 organization to develop and advocate for this proposed new public fund for the arts. "Passed in 1975, Oregon's Percent for Art legislation mandates that 1% of the direct construction funds of new or remodeled state buildings with construction budgets of $100,000 or more be set aside for the acquisition of art work. The Oregon Arts Commission oversees the Program and maintains archives of slides, photographs and related documentation for the works of art selected. Encompassing over a 30-year period, the database offers access to over 5200 items. The collection offers glimpses of 1545 unique artwork creations, visual narratives of the creative process, and documentation."

Stories from sites that charge for access have generally been excluded. The current AJ site is the fifth design. In daily life, if you don't know how to 3D model but need a household object like a door hook, you can search "door hook" and 3D print it out instead of buying one. Any 3D designer or artist can upload their file for everyone to access.
