#41: WordPress as a CMS - 0 views

  •
We once did a poll asking people what their favorite CMS was. WordPress was a run-away winner, but also got many comments of "WordPress isn't a CMS!!". Well clearly, in the strictest sense, WordPress is a CMS as it "manages content". But is WordPress really only suited for blogging, or can it be used for more traditional non-blog sites? In this screencast I attempt to show off a number of WordPress features that make it very "CMS-like" in my opinion. Including page templates, dynamic menus, parent-child relationship pages, and using posts as ancillary content.

In short, all of the content you've ever uploaded on Facebook can be used, modified or even sublicensed by Facebook in every possible way - even if you quit the service.

iScroll 4 mobile webkit touch scrolling - 0 views

  •
"iScroll 4 is a complete rewrite of the original iScroll code. The script development began because mobile webkit (on iPhone, iPad, Android) does not provide a native way to scroll content inside a fixed width/height element. This unfortunate situation prevents any web-app to have a position:absolute header and/or footer and a scrolling central area for contents. While latest Android revisions are supporting this functionality (although support is not optimal), Apple seems reluctant to add one finger scrolling to divs. In addition to all previous iScroll features, version 4 introduces: Pinch / Zoom Pull up/down to refresh Improved speed and momentum Snap to element Customizable scrollbars"

Main menu is one of the most important parts of a website. It is expected to include all necessary information and navigate the users to major pages of the website, moreover, it can flexibly display all categories or whatever content on a mouse-over without going through cumbersome steps. With our best experience, Magento Mega Menu is developed and optimized to allow both user and admin who don't need to be developers themselves to manage effortlessly all information which they want to show on main navigation of a Magento website such as: categories, products, text contents, images, video, forms.
