This article has cases of people learning how to use the computer, and also some facts and research about the elderly and computer use. It gives some percentages that include how the elderly make up 26% of the population world wide, and also talks about an organization called The American Association for Retired Persons.

The new computer is called a "simplicITy."

This article talks about how the new technologies with broadband make computer usage easier for the everyday senior citizen. It talks about how our everyday knew technology can be applied in ways we have never thought of before. New software are faster and better, and give more capabilities than ever before. These capabilities can be more easily taught to the elderly and make the computers a heck of a lot easier to use for them.

This article describes how movies and commercials including alcohol impact adolescents to drink. The study was to expose some people to the media and compare the results to the people not exposed. On average those teens exposed drank more alcohol than those not exposed.

It goes through recent history looking at things that have impacted the amount of influence of the arts. The influence of budget cuts is one issue discussed. Budget cuts lead to art teachers and programs being cut. In general the authors try to emphasize the benefits of the arts to individuals. They use a quote from Bill Gates at the beginning to start off the article and enforce this point.

But it can also mean seeing an image and realizing why it is there and that is the type that most people are illiterate in.
