    Dates: Lundi 08 Septembre 2014 - Mercredi 10 Septembre 2014 Lancé en 2008, le Forum Mondial Convergences invite chaque année des professionnels pour échanger sur les solutions innovantes de lutte contre la pauvreté et la précarité dans le monde. Lors de sa précédente édition en 2013, le Forum Mondial a rassemblé plus de 5000 participants issus du secteur public, du monde de l'entreprise, de la solidarité et du monde universitaire, de la société civile ainsi que des médias et des étudiants. How to make a difference through climate change education and training - 0 views

    8 December 2014, Lima, Peru. An unusual side event at the annual Climate Conference in Lima (COP 20) provided a snapshot of what the United Nations is doing to support climate change education and training for children, youth and adults. Panellists and participants discussed how learning can actually 'make a difference' on the ground as well as the role of formal, non-formal and informal approaches. The audience also actively engaged in a game on climate risk management animated by the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre (RCCC). The event was hosted by UNEP, UNITAR, UNESCO, UNICEF, FAO, and IFAD in collaboration with YOUNGO. It was moderated by Mr. Daniel Abreu, National UN CC:Learn Focal Point at the National Climate Change Council (CNCCMDL) of the Dominican Republic.

    En décembre 2010, l'Assemblée générale des Nations Unies a proclamé 2013 Année internationale de la coopération dans le domaine de l'eau. Suite à cette déclaration, la Journée mondiale de l'eau, qui sera célébrée le 22 mars 2013, sera également dédiée à la coopération dans le domaine de l'eau. L'objectif de cette Année internationale est de sensibiliser à la fois aux possibilités de développement de la coopération et aux défis que représente la gestion de l'eau, face à un accroissement de la demande d'accès, de répartition des ressources et de services d'approvisionnement.

    "Une délégation venue de La Réunion et comprenant notamment le Préfet et le Recteur d'Académie s'est rendue les jeudi 23 et vendredi 24 mai 2013 à Antananarivo. L'objectif était de renforcer autant que de renouveler le cadre de partenariat qui unit les Ministères de l'Education Nationale (MEN) et de l'Enseignement Technique et de la Formation Professionnelle (METFP) à l'Académie de La Réunion. Une première séance de travail s'est tenue à l'Institut National de Formation Pédagogique (INFP) à Mahamasina le jeudi après-midi. Présidée par Monsieur Pascal Pierrot RABETAHINA, Secrétaire Général (SG) du MEN, elle a rassemblé les principaux opérateurs de la coopération française, les responsables à Madagascar de l'Agence Française de Développement (AFD) et du Service de Coopération et d'Action Culturelle (SCAC) de l'Ambassade de France à côté du Recteur d'Académie de la Réunion, Monsieur Thierry TERRET, accompagné de la Déléguée Académique aux Relations Européennes et Internationales (DAREIC), Madame Marjorie COSTE. Les principaux responsables de l'INFP étaient présents à cette réunion dont le contenu a tourné autour des actions de coopération passées et actuelles entre le MEN et l'Académie de La Réunion."

    The objective of the Governance for Competitiveness Technical Assistance Project is to strengthen the institutional capacity of selected institutions to improve competitiveness in selected sectors in Rwanda. There are four components to the project, the first component being support to priority Institutions under Strategic Capacity Building Initiative (SCBI). The objective of this component is to strengthen the institutional frameworks of the project selected priority institutions to better deliver on their respective mandates, in support of improved competitiveness and the implementation of Rwanda's Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS) and National Export Strategy (NES). The second component is the support for implementation of the NES. The objective of this component is to support the implementation of the NES's two key growth sectors: tourism and horticulture. It will: (a) provide assistance for the review and development of tourism and horticulture strategies and plans related to competitiveness; and (b) provide technical assistance to guide the implementation of these competitiveness strategies. The third component is the improved public-private dialogue for competitiveness. Finally, the fourth component is the project coordination. This component will support the coordination of the project under the Single Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM).

UNIDO and EU to further support vocational training centres in Côte d'Ivoire - 0 views

    ABIDJAN, 17 September 2015 - The European Union (EU) will contribute an additional EUR 16.8 million in support of the efforts by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to rehabilitate and make fully operational 11 vocational training centres and agricultural schools in Côte d'Ivoire. The financial contribution was confirmed today during a signing ceremony held in the capital, Abidjan. The project, worth in total EUR 29 million and being implemented by UNIDO, supports the vocational training system reform in Côte d'Ivoire. Since its inception in 2012, UNIDO, in cooperation with the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs and Vocational Training, has provided over 4,000 young people with certified training in line with the demand of the labour market, and helped with the capacity-building of governmental officials and management personnel in pilot vocational centres. Jean-Francois Valette, the EU Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, highlighted the importance of expanding this project in order to further decentralize employment and vocational training, as well as support the participation of women in vocational training. "By helping improve the vocational training system and supporting the professional and social integration of the trainees, this project will pave the way for a reform of professional education in the country," said Marlen Bakalli, who manages the project from UNIDO's side.
