"I've said before that listening is one of my biggest challenges when learning a language. My Speak from Day One approach to learning langauges, means I'm usually stronger at speaking than listening. With that in mind, I've collected over 50 resources to help Spanish learners improve their listening skills. I've organised this collection into five categories: Videos: Watching videos helps you understand body language and provides valuable visual cues for your listening practice. Podcasts and Radio: For covering a variety of topics and speaking styles, podcasts and online radio can't be beat. Music: Listening to music gives you a look at the creative and poetic side of a language. News: This provides you with more formal, standard use of the language, combined with contemporary topics. Lessons: It is helpful to listen to Spanish in a structured environment, especially when you are first starting out. These Spanish listening resources are for everyone, regardless of your level. So, let's get started!"

"In 2014, The Joan Ganz Cooney Center, a research lab focusing on children, digital media, and education published Family Time with Apps: A Guide to Using Apps with Your Kids. (free on iBooks). A Spanish-language edition of the guide, Apps en familia, became available last fall as an iBook and downloadable PDF. The 20-page booklet addresses the educational value of digital media and offers best practice suggestions. Research-based findings on using apps and recommendations on some of the family activities available through them-from creating photo albums to bird watching-are also included. A separate section answers parents' questions and provides resources for locating quality products. Share the guide and some of our Spanish-language and bi-lingual app recommendations for children with the adults who use your library, and if you don't have any Spanish-language apps on your library devices, it's time to begin a collection. The BBC has produced a fun and interactive course, which is available for free. It draws you into a web of intrigue dealing with real natives and you can't help but learn Spanish! You'll find yourself at the heart of a fast-paced mystery drama, which starts off in Madrid.

"Duolingo is one of the most popular language learning app out there, It is completely free and is part of an ambitious project to translate the web. It's certainly is a great app, but it is also highly underutilised. In this article, we will go over a few useful tips teachers can use to help their students learn and practice Spanish using Duolingo."

"News-O-Matic is a service that offers daily news stories for elementary school students. Along with the news stories News-O-Matic provides videos, games, and quizzes to help students learn about the world. The latest update to the News-O-Matic iPad app introduced an option to quickly switch between an English and a Spanish version of the app."
