  i would not like to have a separate tool bar for dingo. Can I remove the toolbar and still use the program?

  Certainly, you may disable or uninstall the Diigo extension.
  
  In its place, you may use Diigolet:
  http://www.diigo.com/tools/diigolet
  - that is, a step below Diigo in the list of tools.
